The first release of the long-awaited Vice City Online is now available for download! Vice City Online is a mod, brought to you by developers Koolio and ReGeX, aimed at bringing you the best online Vice City multiplayer experience. In order to play, you'll need the VCO Client and a running copy of Vice City (server downloads are available at VC-O.com).

The game that revived the 80's celebrated its 6th birthday today-- its first release in North America on October 27, 2002. Below you can check out the game's trailers and a link to the official Vice City website to spark some memories of the epic sequel. Although the day is nearly over (EST), I hope if you had not remembered you'll take some time to cruise around on a PCJ-600 or maybe nab a Hunter from the Fort Baxter Air Base to celebrate Vice City's release.
In other news... the PS3 version of GTA IV received the v1.3 update today to support the trophy system, similar to Xbox 360's achievement system. As the in-game message displays on a load of a previously saved game, the trophies will not be retroactive, in other words, you have to start a new game to earn trophies, but hey, it shouldn't be something to complain about! ;)

Vice City Online Developers have posted a new video showcasing "on-foot synchronization, weapon fights, static actor system, and improved vehicle synchronization"


Vice City Online (VCO) 2.0.0.2 Video is obviously just a taste of things to come expect a release very soon!

A new Multi Theft Auto killer in the works, Vice City Online, is making great progress with its developer tests and beta runs. The mod (if you can even call it that) looks amazing, and it will certainly revolutionize the way Grand Theft Auto is played online on the PC. A full feature list is available on our forums, but here is the latest beta test video released showing off some of the features:


Unfortunately the beta is closed for developers and selected users for now, but the mod should be released by the end of next month. For more information, visit Vice City Online's official site or check out the developer's post in our forums.

For those of you still modding GTA: Vice City, we have put up two modifications submitted by forum member Ankh. The mods will replace the uniforms and vehicles of the VCPD and Army, making them look more like their modern-day counterparts:

A 2006 case raised in New Mexico, USA by attorney Jack Thompson which alleged that GTA: Vice City was a catalyst in a brutal murder was thrown out of court yesterday. In 2004, teenager Cody Posey murdered his father, stepmother and stepsister, resulting in Thompson raising a case claiming that Take Two and Sony were to blame as the teenager had played GTA: Vice City.

"We are pleased that the Court took decisive and appropriate action to dismiss a case that Take-Two has always known had no basis in law or in fact."

The Judge disposed of the case because neither Sony nor Take Two Interactive has offices or business presence in the state of New Mexico. Thompson has 30 days to file an appeal.

Can you believe we've been stuck in the 80's for half a decade? Today marks Vice City's 5th birthday/anniversary, whatever you want to call it. As Zidane said yesterday, time truly flies when you play GTA.

Since we're in this current lag of GTA IV news, I thought I'd post on this Vice City stunt video, Underrated. The stunts were performed by Mr. Magic (a member of GTAStunting) and Bliss (known as K-evin on GTAGaming), plus a few guest stunters.
