Election Coverage

GTAGaming.com - General News | @ 08:07 PM MDT | By Kodo
Well the polls are closing nationwide so there's not much we can do now but wait anxiously for the votes to be counted. If you're looking for good election coverage I found great stats on the front page of CNN.com and there's also the full map results. You can even select a state to see how the voting is going in each county. The stats also auto-update so you don't need to refresh. It's been said that we won't know the results until tomorrow instead of the usual midnight but let's wait and see. A candidate needs at least 270 electoral votes to win the presidential election. At the time of this post Bush currently has more electoral votes but like I said just watch the CNN site for live updates. Or of course watch tv coverage for as late as you want to. I'm aware that a majority of this site's fanbase cannot vote but the least you can do is stay up to date with political news, because this election matters perhaps more than ever.

In response to GtA-expert, (perhaps it is obvious) I believe bush is disliked around the world because of the situation in Iraq - he has lost creditibility with many nations and here in New Zealand the general feeling is he is something of an idiot. Whats the odds that the he's an ex-presidents son and now is the president. Its shady alright. But I may be wrong....

I voted Bush. I think he was just dealt a bad hand. Kerry to me has an untrusting face and I think he is too lenient and nice on foreign policy. That's just my opinion. Please respect it as I will respect all of yours. You are all entitled to your own opinion and this is mine.

I'm 18, this is my first election, I voted Kerry, and he better win. Come on Ohio! Last I heard:

Bush: 254
Kerry: 252

I think thats what my friend said, so whoever wins Ohio takes all. It'll truly be a sad day if Bush wins again. Civil War II anyone?

I agree, Kerry does not seem like the best person for the job, but we've already seen what Bush has done, and he's done enough, believe me. Its time for him to go. He only started to help the economy at the end of his term so he could be re-elected, then the economies going back down again with no end in sight until we get a good president. I'm not saying Kerry will do anything differently though.

Vote Obama!

Bush is not a person who should have ever been President in the first place. Not because he lost the popular vote in the first election, but because he is not a public figure. Did any of you watch the debates?! Bush couldn't debate his way out of a paper bag. Not only that but how could you rally behind a president who goes to war on false pretenses and self-interest. When international greed costs American lives, that is NOTHING to be proud of.
The media hasn't helped the situation any either. What's happened to reporting the facts. Remember Dan Rather's little slip up on the air, when he read a false statement about Bush implementing the draft? He should have been fired for that. And who gives a flaming shit what celebrities think. Who could be more out of touch with what the real public think?!
If I hear one more person say that Sadam Hussein was a threat to the states and needed to be removed, I'm going to snap. If that's the case then why don't they invade North Korea and remove that angry little midget who is producing nuclear weapons. Or how about the millions of people who were slaughtered in Rwanda? The only reason why the Gov't didn't intervene was because they had no interest in Africa. Oh sure, we'll help the poor suffering Iraqis and help relieve them of their oil. It is not our job to police the world. Anyone who supports Bush, in my opinion, is the kind of person who is grossly mis-informed and believe everything the liberal media feeds them. If you could form your own opinions and see Bush for what a fucking chump he really is, Kerry would be our new president (not that Kerry is the answer). So, the next time you call Bush a "great man" or a "great leader", back it up with facts. He's done nothing for our country, but pad his own ego and pockets. He's a fucking coward who couldn't even serve his own country and now he's sending our people off to die.

He also is a terrible public speaker and is very low at attaxking Kerry with that documentry thinghy. But I must admit Kerry aint that good either, but hey, anyone could do better than Bush.

I can't believe that bush has won either. I don't understand why the people of america believes yet in his lying words. Now he is going to invade another countruy, destroy many more lives, entire families will be removed from the earth just because of a stupid man with stupid believes with an stupid religion that means that only rich people are blessed by god and rest "poor" should die. That's the kind of person and people (rice, chenney, ashcroft, rumsfeld, powell, etc) you have chosen. Incopetents, now richer than ever, corrupts, assasins. It a shame for all. Now more people will be against bush and the neoliberalism and will creat more terrorist groups.

By theway it is a good thing hat gta gaming let us express ourselves. i must congratulate that.

Yeah! How can someone trust Bush! He didn't serve for his country. And now he's sending off young adults to die! Doesn't anyone realize that if Bush keeps running this country by the end of 2008, it could end up being one of the poorest countrys in the world, and could also be running on dictatorship; and guess who the dictator will be?! Bush even said:"Guess if it's a dictatorship it'd be a heck of a lot easier, just so long as I'm the dictator."

The election was pretty much even, yet all I see is Kerry supporters. Where is the other half? Maybe it's because they said that majority of the younger demographic supports Kerry. My dad was a Marine and from what I've heard from him, most of his military friends don't like Kerry and voted Bush. It's like the old people against the young people. This is wierd.

P.S. I can't stop playing GTA! I ditch class to play! I come in late to work because I play so much! They need to make a GTA patch so I can feed my cravings without playing so much!

I'm in Virginia and my vote didn't count thanks to the goddamn electoral college. I voted Kerry and my whole state ended up going for Bush for no reason. I feel ripped off. Why should I vote until I move to a democratic state, if I ever do? Theres no point in voting until there is no electoral college.

Now we have a president who doesn't care about anyones rights except his own: gays can't marry, and now there will probably be a constitutional ammendment against it, even though there already is one that says everyone is equal. I wonder what happened to that one. Women can't get abortions anymore, he doesn't even care what they want, because somehow he is right and anyone who disagrees is wrong.

Stem cell research will be delayed another 4 years at least, because according to Mrs. Bush, theres no use in starting to research if its gonna take a few years to know enough to cure something.

I really hate the Bush's. This election really pisses me off.

And apparently, (I'm not sure about this, but my friends keep saying it), Bush is going to reinstate the draft? Wtf? Why would anyone vote for him, people my age are sending themselves off to war, and older people are sending their children and grand children off to war by voting for him. If I get drafted, I'm moving to Canada, and lighting up a blunt.

*Listening to "Mosh" by Eminem, getting angry*

I once thought it would be cool to be president, I guess I kinda still do, so I could set everything right. I couldn't tell people all my plans or I wouldn't get elected. I'd have to tell them what they want to hear during the campaigns, then switch it up to what I actually want to do during my term. I don't care if its only one term, at least I could set everything straight. And then I could ask people for my re-election campaign, did any of the changes I made really effect them, the ones that they didn't want.

I did agree with the war on terror in Afghanistan, but Iraq wasn't bothering us, and we invaded them anyway. It just pisses me off that a leader can be so stupid.

Odd how that anyone that says Kerry is a moronic fuck, people seem to shut it down, say its false, all kinds of bullshit. If you can say Bush is an idiot and think its 100% true, then you've got to look at the other side too.

Bush is a great man, Kerry on the other hand, is a fake war hero. He married into wealthiness, and he seems to think that everything is wrong with the USA, but has no plans to fix it. That goes with everyone in here. You can point out what's wrong, but you have no clue on what to do, or how you would fix it.

Shut up... Most of the kids on this site are probably from 11-15, and have no idea about how politics work, and just assume that what their parents feed them is true.

After this election, I now believe in the phrase "nice guys finish last," just as I believed, after the 2000 election, "cheaters always win." I admit, there are some things I dislike about Kerry, mainly the fact that he also supports the war on Iraq, and he might have flip-flopped on the war, supporting it, but voting against supplies. But, he seems to be smarter than Bush, and less money hungry. I believe the only reason why Bush went to war with Iraq was for oil. Saddam never made a threat to the US, and where are the weapons of mass destruction? Oh yeah, that's right, the CIA/FBI already said there were none. All this time, I thought we were after Osama bin Laden? What happened to Afghanistan? Oh, that's right, Bush accuses Kerry of flip-flopping, but Bush flip-flopped right there. A war on terrorism is now a war for oil.

I know I'm sort of rambling now, I just felt like typing my opinions about Bush. I won't even type about the other things Bush has, or has not done. Mainly cutting programs for tax cuts to the rich, and the pre-9/11 briefings given to him in August, 2001 by the CIA. And defiantly not about the Florida problems four years ago, that I think his brother, Florida Governor Jeb Bush, had something to do with. Mainly because I would run out of space. But I will say this:

I just don't get America anymore. How so many people can vote for Bush is beyond me. After all the things he has done, I just do not get it. I guess so many people are misinformed, I have even heard of people who thought Saddam was responsible for 9/11. I thought typing this would allow me to be less angry, but itís not the case. I am now even more sickened by this. I am not even sure if this post is legal, thanks to the Patriot Act. Or anything anti-Bush.

By the way, no, I did not vote, but if I could, I would have. I am 15, and from California. Yeah, that's right, the state with the Terminator as Governor.

Bush isn't gonna reinstate the draft, and even if he does we have more than enough people in our military that it would take a long-ass time to actually have to use it. We shouldn't be dividing right now and even Kerry said that we need to work together to Bush. We need to unite. If you just piss and moan about everything then we will get nowhere. I wouldn't be pissed if Bush lost, because I know that I need to support whoever is in power. If you hate living here in America then get the F U C |< out. Stop |3itching and face the fact that Kerry lost. He would have lost in the popular vote too and complaining isn't gonna change anything.

MIKE-rophone, your a pure idiot, if you think bush won't start the draft, again. He already has a back door draft.

Why don't you search for S89 or HR 163, these are two house and senate bills, which activate when?

Its A Pretty Simple Thing To Do To Go To Google.com And Type Those In And Hit The Search Button.

Just incase its too, hard here is a link to an goverment site.

It doesn't matter if he started it or not because we're not going to need it. Like I said, we have enough people in the armed forces that it would be a long while before they would enforce the draft.

Oh, and one more thing to the American people in here. I know that most of the people in this forum wouldn't fight for Bush if the draft happened, but what if the attack came back to us? What if we were attacked on our own soil again? Would you fight then? Would you protect the lives of all of your friends and family if it was on our own soil and Bush was in power? Or would you still not fight just because some "redneck hick" was in the White House? If you still wouldn't fight because Bush was in power, EVEN THOUGH OUR COUNTRY WAS UNDER ATTACK, then you are a F U C |< I N G P U 5 5 Y! Go live in Iraq or something where they throw rocks at burning cars for no reason. I'm serious, everytime you watch the news about a car bombing or some kind of attack, its like they always HAVE to show some arab dude throwing a rock at a burning car.

And those bills you linked didn't even say they passed. The HR 163 wasn't passed and the S69 was just referred to the senate committee, was read twice and then sent to the committee on armed services. HR 163 they only agreed to reconsider. Unless it is passed then it can't take effect.

hhmm, why would a politician not want to sign a really undesireable bill, it not like a very unpopular action could have a affect on a election, maybe I should look that up on the "internets", I wonder which one would have the most info on that?

Funny how the exit polls for the first time ever did not match the vote, funny how four republicans senator all got the same amount votes, funny how all of this only happend in states using the new voting machine, you know the machines which the ceo said he promised the election to bush.

Those bills didn't even get to the president, Dudeman. They have to get passed Congress first and it didn't even get past them. And about the exit polls, they don't say what demographic was being polled. Many of the news stations elaborated on why the exit polls differed from the results. They said that many of those polled were women. They even said majority of women support Kerry. Stop bashing and just face the fact that your candidate lost. And bashing Bush because he's not an English major is just stupid. Just because he doesn't have the best word choice doesn't mean he's not smart. The guy went to Yale for Christ's sake and even him and Kerry were in the same fraternity: The Skulls or whatever it was called.

And God Bless aggpsx for serving his country. Props to you, man! Wish there were more people like you.

Mike-raphone was downright funny, perhaps unintentionally but funny none the less. I now have images coursing through my mind of Lil' Achmed grabbing any kind of stoney object just to throw it at a moving viechle. However, that's the natured of slated media too. To portray the opponents as barbaric, uncivilised, primitive but slated media never shows you the aggression of the American army. When was the last time anyone saw Lil' Achmed getting his head blown off by a special op or the mass swarm of bodies and structural ruin from a misguided smart bomb on CNN? When Mr. Armajal has seen his family blown to bits by one of these bombs and is simply referred to as "Collateral Damage" by the US Administration wouldn't it be understandable that he might seek revenge and want to make Americans pay?

After September 11, many Americans chated a war cry, someone has to pay and with September 11 it was understandable Al-Queda and Taliban should pay but they haven't in their entirity thanks to Bush which has pulled a Houdini stunt and diverted attention to Iraq which was an innocent country. So now the innocents of Iraq are the same as those who lost their lives in September 11. Don't feed me liberation rhetoric, WMD stuff or any of the like, the current American admin are the aggressors in this war and the violence only bigots more violence. Besides, the whole WMD is kinda nullified by this administrations actions. Even then pre-emption? What a ridiculous notion. You can't arrest a man because he buys a knife at an Ikea and you have a hunch that he might stab someone with it.

Plus, America voted George W. Bush back in. Even though the country is heavily divided he was still elected and triumphed. He stole the election in 2000 but was handed it this time which could have it's own consequences. Don't get me wrongo, I have great faith in America. Great country with great ideals, the founding ideals are wonderful yet sadly, not many administrations honour them.

The newscasters are trying to explain why the data was off, for the first time ever.

Here are the real polls, these are people that left the polls after voting:

Did you know a monkey was trained to hack the voting machines to show how easy it was to alter the results:

No draft you say, well maybe you should tell that to the pentagon, I don't think they know that, and PLEASE CHECK the DATE of the action Nov 5:

I love it how you Republicans avoid the data, I speaking of my post offcourse

Actully Rufoo, you can with the Patriot Act, and you can hold that man until Duke Nukem Forever gets released, without a lawyer, or search his house while he is buying that knife and you never have to tell him.
