It's ridiculous anyone would deduct points for GTA having swearing. That's like taking points off for GTA having violence or Super Mario having overweight plumbers.

However, as much as I enjoy GTA games, I personally do not like swearing. Swearing just seems crude and unnecessary to me. But anyone who knows anything about GTA should know that swearing is a part of the franchise.

With that said, don't be surprised that there are people out there who don't like swearing. Not everyone have a habit of insert a f-word, just like not everyone have a habit of stealing cars, shooting pedestrians or punching hookers in the face. With that said, I am very much looking forward to my upcoming visit to Los Santos!

You think you'd have to bribe someone to get reviews like this, they're so good.

@Homyans Metacritic is an average rating based on alot of review websites, they don't provide their own review

The first thing that struck me was the overwhelming 10/10 5/5 scores. If this thing doesn't win game-of-the-year, I'm going to eat my own head.

Who gave it the 7 because it had swearing in it, I don't see it on the list.

Ah, the so called 7 rating is from a fake Polygon review.

@The Commander No, it's an inane review by The Escapist's Greg Tito. 3.5/5 = 7/10

So far, I'm not that impressed. Now, I haven't played many missions, but thats because I really don't care to. I play GTA for the gameplay, just to mess around for a few hours, and GTA5 seems a bit lacking. Driving around just seems joyless, the cars don't crush the same way as in 4, theres barely and damage at all.

The graphics are phenomenal, except for the explosions, which looked amazing in GTA4, they now look quite low res. I noticed that in a few screenshots before the games release, but I had hoped it was just a bad picture.

I think Rockstar was too focused on the technical achievement of getting this all to run on current consoles, and it is quite an achievement, but the gameplay has suffered.

The cars aren't sluggish anymore, like GTA4, but the handling is worse. The cars are too responsive, like Vice City. A few cars are pretty quick, the Lotus/Tesla, Audi R8, but cars I had been wanting to drive, the GT40, Corvette, are kind of slow. And the bikes are pretty much the same as 4.

Driving onto the airport still raises your wanted level, which was ok in 4 because you couldn't fly planes, but now its just annoying trying to take off before you get shot to death, and don't bother trying to fly the jumbo jet, you'll be dead way before you can even get to the runway. Planes fly ok, the wind is annoying though, and the whole screen twists when you bank a turn, which is dizzying.

Theres one or two cool cheat codes, but no health or ammo (as of yet). Hopefully these will come out with time. And no riot? WTF?

You CAN finally jump onto a moving train from the ground and even run on top of it, I haven't been able to hijack one yet though, maybe theres a door on the back of the locomotive somewhere, but I have a feeling there is not.

Running and jumping over fences is more fluid, and when you mistime it and fall its actually kind of funny. I can't remember if you're forced to walk up and down stairs like in 4 or if they've fixed that. Yet again, the player is forced to tap x to run. Who wants to walk anywhere in a videogame? It takes too long! The character should always be running!

Well, this is what happens when you try to push the limits of the hardware and not the gameplay, a beautifully rendered semi-boring game. And we waited so long for it.

All of these perfect review scores have either been payed off, or they just can't bring themselves to grade it lower, because its GTA, and GTA is always good, right? Wrong

@matt_jon: Play the game longer to unlock the rest of the activities and weapons then, complaining that there's nothing to do if you've only played a couple of missions is odd as stuff gradually unlocks over the course of the first chapter, stuff like Golf, Tennis, Triathlons, Flying School (where you're allowed to fly over the airport), Repo Missions, Paparazzi Missions, Rampages, etc. And most important, CHOP!

either you want to see this game in a negative light, or you're one of those PC Gamers who are going around in mass trying to downvote the game and complain about it on as many websites as possible (yes I've seen that thread).

So I read the escapist review that this news post painted in a negative light.

The guy isn't complaining about swearing so much as he seems upset at human nature and the unrelatability of criminal characters.

Not quite as petty as bitching about swearing, tbh.
