PS3 Modders Unlock Brucie's Garage Shop

Grand Theft Auto IV - General News | @ 12:25 PM MDT | By Ash_735
Of course it's just a script mod using already in-game assets but the guys on the PS3 modding side of things have put together something that works really well within the Grand Theft Auto IV world. Using Brucie's Garage Shop as the host, the player in this video shows off the options Grand Theft Auto IV uses for vehicles but lets the player alter those options themselves in a menu style that is very similar to the old San Andreas Vehicle Mod Shops. Check out the video below, impressive stuff starts from 2:35.

And remember this is all in-game assets, the only thing that has been change here are the scripts, maybe there is a slight chance we could see something similar used in Grand Theft Auto V?

Well unless you have a custom FW (you lose PSN access AFAIK) or a developer kit, you won't be able to use this.

From the link in the YT vid he did it from scratch? Then it is pretty impressive.

Your last line makes it sound like this was a 'hidden code' on GTAIV or something but yeah I think customisation will come back for GTAV. Although I find it pointless since you go through cars faster than underwear in GTA universe so didn't see the point of spending $$$$$ on customising one.

If you can call your 'main car' via calling a chauffeur, and every time it's wrecked you can repair it etc, then it might be worth customising.

I personally won't like it if my car magically repaired itself at 100mph lol.

It was nice to be tied to my horse in RDR. I was so sad when he died at a random ambush that I went mad and spent all my bullets shooting the corpses of the people who killed him after the gunfight.

So I wish GTA somehow can create that tie between you and your car. Hard to do though, I realise.

This is very impressive not to mention it looks pretty legit, as if the mod wasnt a mod and it was already there when he bought the game.
