Chinatown Wars continues steady sales pace in USA

GTA: Chinatown Wars - General News | @ 09:57 AM MDT | By Neil
When Rockstar announced Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars was coming to Nintendo DS last year, opinion on how the game would sell was divided. Some people felt that the combination of the most popular games console of this generation with one of the top selling game franchises of all time would be a winner.

Unfortunately, the latest official sales data for the United States has shown otherwise - the title sold just 74,000 copies in its second month on sale, failing to meet even the most conservative estimates of analysts. The total number now in American gamers' hands stands at 163,000.

Compared to the electrifying rate at which GTA IV sold, Chinatown Wars looks like it is under-performing. On a platform with a bigger install base than Xbox 360 and PS3 combined, it really does seem like more people should be picking this one up.
