Clip capture on/off... I have a feeling turning that off can result in much better performance, hopefully I'm right :)

Edit: Tried it out, my performance was a little increased, didn't notice any from turning off clip capture, however. Still improvement nonetheless, but ASI mods don't work :p

I had no idea another patch was being developed, I was going to try it but then I read Slim's post......
Ill wait until another ASI loader is released.

binkw32.dll was replaced, so that is the only affected file for Alice. Don't need to worry about uninstalling any mods, the game runs fine, but ASI mods just won't work.

My framerate is a bit lower but the graphics are a lot better, especially with Water and Reflections.

patch works good on my system, my only suggestion is to run Very High Shadow Quality (even for those on low end systems) because Low Shadow Quality Looks like this.

Low Detail on everything else looks fine. I don't mind the low less textures, but blockyness sucks.

Earthquake mod would be sweet actually, now if buildings and other structures could break apart for it.. that would be pretty darn cool.

However, would make more sense in San Andreas, given the California fault line runs through San Andreas. (see what I did there?)

Wow, they even updated the Bink Video player library. First time I ever see a game patch doing that, normally they stick to the version they used during development. Sucks for that Alice thing though, I bet those guys chose that library as a hook because they supposed it would never be updated :)

I'm sure the creators of alice will just release a new version of thier mod to support the patch ;)

anyway the patch improved my performance a bit, though my CPU is still limited in alot of graphics options.

Modability patches are going to need to be updated too, just noticed that the Dashboard Camera mod doesn't work.

Why can't we just turn shadows off? I'd rather have some decent performance instead of blurry shadows.

it won't help Vortigern, I used a mod that removed shadows and the FPS was the same, the game engine itself is CPU intensive mostly, so graphics settings won't make a difference

Oh, that's strange. I expected it would, because shadows were such a framerate killer in Call of Duty 4...

I got an improvement in performance. From 23 to 24fps on 800x600 with everything on low. The shadows are still a mess and there are still massive frame drops anywhere that you can see the skyline or the water.

    Unplayable :(

Least this update fixed controllers enough to the point where I could configure some map my Dualshock 3 with Xpadder, very difficult to make it work for everything, I'd have to change virtually every keyboard and mouse control to map it perfectly. For now I'm using it for vehicles, however I would have to change it over and over every time I wanted to use a helicopter.

Man I really should just a buy a 360 controller.
