Grand Theft Auto IV - General News | @ 12:10 PM MDT | By Slim Trashman
Rockstar Games has announced Grand Theft Auto IV will arrive on PC this fall, scheduled for a North American release on November 18th and European three days later on November 21st.
New York, NY – August 6, 2008 – Rockstar Games, a publishing label of Take-Two Interactive Software, Inc. (NASDAQ: TTWO), is proud to announce that Grand Theft Auto IV will be arriving on the PC on November 18th and 21st in North America and Europe, respectively.

"We are very excited to be releasing the PC version of Grand Theft Auto IV," said Sam Houser, Founder of Rockstar Games. "The whole team is dedicated to bringing an amazing gaming experience to the PC. The game looks and plays beautifully on PC and we can't wait for people to play it."

Developed by series creator Rockstar North and set in Liberty City, the latest installment in the enormously successful Grand Theft Auto series features a painstakingly detailed and life-like city for players to explore; a rich, immersive narrative experience; an original soundtrack highlighting the cultural eclecticism of Liberty City; and newly expanded multiplayer just for the PC.

According to the official GTA IV web site, more details are to be revealed in the coming weeks, so stay tuned!

So... DLC gets delayed... Midnight Club LA gets delayed... no word on any of those PS3 R* exclusives... but at least GTA IV is coming out on PC!

It just goes to show the trend is not to improve their mistakes or make their next game anytime soon, but to capitalize on the success of one product. I want to play a next-gen GTA with a better story, better voice acting, more choices, a bigger city, and more to do.

chrisandy, you'll obviously never be happy if you weren't happy with the original product were you expecting R* to release another full GTA instalment mere months after they just released their opus? Christ get a clue...or a better PC for some mods.

No, I was expecting to play the DLC in August such as when they stated it would be released. The original game was ridiculously short and flawed, and their strategy is not to improve their original product or extend it but to simply milk it for all it's worth.

Except that there are PC versions of most GTA games except Liberty City Stories and Vice City Stories.

Don't forget that there are a huge amount of PC gamers who are fans. Rockstar can't and shouldn't forget about them. It's not fair to a huge part of the fanbase, and it is obviously a stupid business move to forget about releasing a PC version. And it's not like you will never get DLC. It'll come. Besides, it isn't like they decided to work on the PC version and abandon DLC until it's done. I'm sure the port has been in development for several months.

Rockstar isn't abandoning their fans. They are trying to make them happy. While making money, of course.

I knew they would announce it on PC sooner or later.

A parody of the recommended requirements:

Quad-Core CPU ~2.5GHz
1GB Video Card (GTX 280/Radeon 4870 recommended)

Can't wait until someone replicates the Mazda RX-7 mod for GTA4 this time.
