At the end of a tremendous week in which The Lost and Damned hit Xbox 360 and trailers for the DS-exclusive Chinatown Wars were released, many will be wondering when Sony's consoles will get a little more GTA action.

That question may have been answered yesterday when MTV News spoke to John Koller, SCEA's Head of PSP Hardware Marketing. In the interview, he expresses the good relationship which his company has with the series publisher, Rockstar Games and goes on to talk a little further about GTA:

"No one should sleep on that franchise. It's tremendous for PlayStation in general. We’ve had two that are the top two sellers on PSP right now. So, there’s definitely continued conversations with Rockstar on all their brands."

Been a while since this program was updated but Edison Carter has finally released an update for BOTH the LCS Cheat Device and the VCS Cheat Device.

This new PRX version has been modified so people who use custom firmware on their PSP such as OE & M33 can now get that extra kick out of the PSP versions of Grand Theft Auto. Both versions come with edited PRX's for pre-3.71 M33 firmwares and the actual 3.71 M33 firmware, so everyone should be covered.

Well, for Europeans at least. Rockstar themselves have confirmed that the European release date of Grand Theft Auto: Liberty City Stories has been changed to June 23, two weeks after the American launch. Yes, Americans, the release date for the United States stays the same, June 6.

Also, much to my own personal dismay, confirmed in a review in Issue 82 of the UK's PSW, there is no multiplayer in the PS2 version. The only improvements noticed in the PS2 version were slightly better graphics. However, it did recieve a score of 8 out of 10 from the publication, which is quite a good score. Even with a lack of any new features, cars, weapons, etc., at a score of 8 out of 10 (and at only $19.99!), this port of Rockstar's first criminal simulation endeavor on the PSP is worth the purchase.

Christian Sanowski has taken advantage of edisoncarter's advancements with his CheatDevice v0.5 video recorder with this cool download. The LCS Video Viewer enables you to watch videos you captured in game via the PSP Web Browser through the address "file:/viewer.htm". It works for all firmware above 2.0, so most people shouldn't have compatibility issues. The installation seems rather easy, and the layout is user-friendly and customizable. One downside is, however, it can't play files that are too big, but newer versions might fix that.

If the other news post hadn't locked, I would've updated that one... but, here it goes. Edisoncarter's forever updating CheatDevice for Liberty City Stories has made it to version 0.3. In this version, the following features have been added: activate spawn cheats with one button, edit car colors, never fall off your motorcycle, and, probably the best of all, capture screenshots! This version of CheatDevice allows you to capture screenshots of LCS without the fancy PSP to TV converters (sure the quality isn't as good, but it's free!).

Cheatmaster edisoncarter has made his way further into the save games of Liberty City Stories and has put the first release of CheatDevice up for download. This program allows you to easily turn certain cheats on and off. So far, the following features are implemented: Infinite Health and Armor, Wanted Level editor, Time editor, Weather editor, and vehicle spawning (yes, as the picture shows, you can spawn a Hunter!).

Although it is currently available as a US/Canada version for Firmware 2.0 and 2.01, there will hopefully be more updates to this mod in the near future.
