Chinatown Wars iPhone cheats Part 1

GTA: Chinatown Wars - General News | @ 12:51 PM CST | By Neil
Rockstar Games has revealed the first in what it says will be a series of cheats for the iPhone/iPod touch version of Chinatown Wars. Today's codes allow you to award yourself several packages of weapons:
Cheats are entered on your Mission Replay Board which can be accessed by visiting any Safe House (you can find the Board on the far right side of the Safe House). The Mission Replay Board has a jumbled set of magnetized letters that can be used to arrange all kinds of words - spell out the letters below to input the following cheats:

LOADOA
Grants: grenade, nightstick, pistol, minigun, assault, micro smg, stubby shotgun

LOADOB
Grants: molotov, teaser, dual pistols, flamethrower, carbine, smg, dual-barrel

LOADOC
Grants: mine, chainsaw, revolver, flamethrower, carbine, smg, dual-barrel

LOADOD
Grants: flashbang, bat, pistol, rpg, carbine, micro smg, stubby shotgun

You will know you have entered a cheat successfully when all of the magnetized letters go back to their original position on the board and a piece of text appears at the bottom of the screen with the load-out name you selected. Once you exit your safe house, you can switch weapons by pressing the pause button in the upper right hand corner (a screen with all of your current weapons will pop up).
More cheats are promised in the coming days.

San Andreas is North America's third best selling game since 1995

GTA: San Andreas - General News | @ 07:47 AM CST | By Neil
Statistic tracking firm NPD has revealed a list of the top ten video games sold in North America since it began recording data back in 1995. According to the firm, Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas is the third biggest seller in that time.

In the data provided to Industry Gamers, San Andreas is the only Grand Theft Auto title ranked in the top ten. Wii Play and Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock managed to beat it to the higher spots.

It's interesting that Grand Theft Auto IV doesn't make an appearance in the list, despite recording extremely impressive early sales. It looks like the game lost a significant amount of momentum following its huge launch and the incredible success of Nintendo's Wii games can't have helped either.

Chinatown Wars now available for iPhone and iPod touch

GTA: Chinatown Wars - General News | @ 05:10 AM CST | By Neil
Rockstar Games today released Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars for Apple's iPhone and iPod touch. In what can only be described as one of the quietest launches in the series' history, the game appeared on the App Store earlier this morning with no fanfare or announcement whatsoever.

Despite selling for just $9.99, early reports indicate the game is a faithful reproduction of the DS and PSP versions which went on sale last year. When those arrived, the game was quickly hailed as one of the greatest handheld games of all time.
