Grand Theft Auto IV - General News | @ 11:00 AM MDT | By Ash_735
Just a quick note to let you guys know that the PlayStation 3 version of Grand Theft Auto IV has now been updated to version 1.07, this update is just a small fix to transfer the multiplayer over Sony's matchmaking networks. If you have a different version of the game, check below to see which patch is the latest:
- Grand Theft Auto IV North American and European – 1.07
- Grand Theft Auto IV Japanese – 1.03
- Episodes from Liberty City (all regions) – 1.01
- Grand Theft Auto IV Complete (all regions) – 1.01
Is this why Niko "went quiet"?

Yeardley Diamond is back with another video, this time taking inspiration from Sinéad O'Connor's "Nothing Compares 2U", we have this music video set to Michael Hollick's (Niko's voice actor) "Time Machine", a song from 2007 where Hollick seems to slip into Niko's voice a few times, making it just a brilliant choice for Niko to actually sing:

PSA: Games for Windows Live closing down

Grand Theft Auto IV - General News | @ 06:30 PM MDT | By Ash_735

Still play Grand Theft Auto IV or Episodes from Liberty City multiplayer? Well we have some bad news for you guys, Microsoft is pulling the plug on their Games for Windows Live (GFWL) service, with the end date being July 1st, 2014. After this date, any games using Games for Windows Live that have not been patched or made the transition over to Steamworks or their own service will lose all online abilities, save games and DLC purchases, as well as any activations that were required through Games for Windows Live services.

What does this mean? Well Grand Theft Auto IV and Episodes from Liberty City currently have no plans to be patched or transitioned, therefore come July 1st, 2014, multiplayer for these games will effectively be killed outright and for those of you who purchased The Lost and Damned or The Ballad of Gay Tony as DLC, will lose out on those DLC packages. The majority of people will lose access to the game completely and must chose to play without GFWL or use a plug in such as XLiveLess to bypass the Games for Windows Live shell (which at that point would be nothing more than bloatware).

What can we do? Nothing much I'm afraid, if you have purchased TLAD or TBOGT through GFWL as DLC then I'm afraid that's literally going to be money lost, if you wish to continue playing GTA IV or EFLC, then we recommend using XLiveLess, if you have your save games on GFWL then there are guides out there to help you reclaim these save files for offline use. As for multiplayer, we're afraid that will be simply dying out unless Rockstar decide to patch the game to either Steamworks or their own Social Club service.
One guy covers the Episodes from Liberty City themes

Grand Theft Auto IV - General News | @ 11:15 AM MDT | By Ash_735
After covering the classic GTA3 era themes and then doing the Grand Theft Auto IV theme, of course the next logical step would be GTA Advance, ...I mean, Episodes from Liberty City, which is exactly what SquidPhysics did:

The Lost and Damned

The Ballad of Gay Tony

OpenIV 1.5 released with new GTA IV and Max Payne 3 features

Grand Theft Auto IV - Modifications | @ 02:57 PM MDT | By rappo
Version 1.5 of the popular RAGE engine modding tool OpenIV has been released today with new features for GTA IV (including EFLC) and Max Payne 3:
Today we bring texture modding to Max Payne 3. You can use the full power of our Texture Editor or take advantage of openFormats for textures. Also for Max Payne 3, you can use OPL text format for editing map WPL files. As for GTA IV, we have done big improvements in Animation Viewer and you finally can use it to view EfLC cut-scenes. Besides viewer, new version of openFormats for GTA IV Animations will bring more usability for animation editing.

One guy covers the Grand Theft Auto IV theme

It was only a mere nine days ago when we posted about SquidPhysics covering the GTA3-era theme songs and already he's back with his version of the Grand Theft Auto IV theme song, featuring a cameo from a black cat:

Niko Bellic, Gentleman

Grand Theft Auto IV - General News | @ 07:30 AM MDT | By Ash_735
With all the focus on Grand Theft Auto V we've kind of forgot about fan made videos for a while there but currently this one caught my attention, from veteran YeardlyDiamond comes a remake of PSY's "Gentleman" done with Niko Bellic providing the lyrics. The interesting thing though, I think this is one of the first music videos made in Grand Theft Auto IV to have custom animations, which apparently can be done now!

Grand Theft Auto IV is 5 Years Old

Grand Theft Auto IV - General News | @ 02:00 PM MDT | By Ash_735
Today Grand Theft Auto IV is FIVE years old! At the time it was the first proper Next Gen outing for the Grand Theft Auto Series appearing on the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 (and Grand Theft Auto V intends to end that era with a bang!) with a PC release arriving later in the year.

We've seen the modding scene grow to insane highs through our own GTA4-Mods.com and various other GTA websites, and that will only continue to grow as more tools become available, such as OpenIV which is still being updated to this day with a new release due out soon! With projects such as IV: SA and Iron Man IV, it should give you an idea of how much effort people can really put into their ideas and mods and how much it benefits from that attention. Here's to many more mods and projects to come!

With OVER 25 MILLION copies sold and trunk full of awards, Grand Theft Auto IV is one of the most successful GTA games around and yet is also one of the most argued about with many different opinions ranging from people thinking the game is too serious, lost its way, etc splitting some gaming communities in half with one side opting for Saints Row, which lead to one of the more creative response videos from the GTA Community, which only started off the zany direction many mods followed on with. And yes, you guys even followed trends such as Gangnam Style (even Gentlemen) and the Harlem Shake.

Of course it wasn't all just crazy videos and funny stuff, we also had genuine well made and edited videos such as the amazing "Niko Bellic - Man On Fire" tribute (and in my opinion, the better "Peace and Prosperity be Damned" tribute) so it feels fitting to highlight the next video, which shows a playthrough of all three stories at once, showing the events of the now well known "Impossible Trinity", the GTA IV Diamond Story Arc. So before we start with the Grand Theft Auto V stuff and go full out with it, here, watch this video, see what it's like to have Three Protagonists running through the story at the same time and see how diverse it can be as well as how fitting it is to have it follow multiple arcs between the characters...
