Community modder Casull16 took on the daunting task of updating the textures for every single pedestrian in GTA IV. That's right... all 335 pedestrians, coming in at over 8,000 textures and 712Mb. The mod page shows a comparison between the original and updated textures, which also shows the infinite patience that the author must have.

JANGTA IV Mod: LCPD First Response v0.95 RC2 Grand Theft Auto IV - Modifications | @ 03:32 PM CST | By rappo
After you've completed every available mission in Grand Theft Auto IV (two or three times), what's left besides wreaking havoc throughout the city? Honestly, not a whole lot, but that's why the GTA community never stops modding. If you're running GTA IV on the latest patch (v1.0.7.0), there's a script mod available that can add a whole new dimension to the game: LCPD First Response.
![]() LCPDFR is a police simulation mod for GTA IV and EFLC. It transforms the game into a law enforcement sim where you arrest the crooks, rather than working for them. LCPDFR 0.95 RC2 adds the ability to use a slick new Taser which acts like a native weapon, stop and search multiple suspects, search the trunks of vehicles, issue parking citations, and engage in high speed pursuits. This mod, featured in the February 2012 issue of PCGamer, is available for download now at GTA4-Mods.com. For more information about the project, check out LCPDFR.com.

DECInterview with RAGE Team (Vice City RAGE) Grand Theft Auto IV - Community News | @ 10:00 PM CST | By Ash_735
Vice City RAGE has to be one of the most looked forward to projects around right now on the Grand Theft Auto Modding scene, with its first BETA release only a couple of short weeks away, we got in contact with the makers of this mod who go by the name of "RAGE Team" to get their view on the upcoming release and what players can expect from the mod when it is out for all to download.
Q: First off, tell us how long you guys have been hard at work on this mod? A: We were working on this modification for two and a half years. The date of birth of this modification is the 6th of August, 2009. Q: What was the ultimate aim of the mod, what did you want to do? A: The main aim of this modification is to learn to work inside the team and to research typical game structure. We want to fill Vice City Rage with nostalgia feeling for old players. It's the main item in our conception. Q: Are you happy with the attention this Mod has built up? A: Yes. We're happy, that people know that we can do quality projects (at least, in some sense). And it will be a huge advantage for our first serious project in the future. Q: As a quick reminder, when is the proposed release date of the Mod? A: The beta release date is the 5th of January, 2012. Q: And what will people need to get this Mod to work? A: First, they need a desire to play this modification. And second, they will need an unmodified version of Grand Theft Auto: Episodes from Liberty City. Q: Is there a specific reason for making this Mod work only on Episodes from Liberty City? A: Plenty of technical reasons. We don't want to tell all the details about it. It will take to much time. Q: What can players expect with the Mod in terms of Content? A: We have no exact list of features, which will be included into the modification. The first version of beta will contain at least part of the map (East island territory, Starfish Island, Leaf Links and Prawn Island), fully converted weapons, some of the vehicles, vehicle paths for a complete areas of the map, auto-update system and some activities for players. Q: How about things like Storyline Missions or Side-Missions? A: We had to refuse from storyline conversion. Partly because we don't have a strong wish and partly because we have another plan for the nearest future. But the side-missions will be included at least after the first beta release. Q: Can we expect any surprises in the Mod? A: Yes, but we won't reveal them to the public, because they are surprises. Q: And Finally, are you guys looking forward to releasing this Mod and seeing how people will get on with it? A: Yes. To be honest, we can't wait for the release of the modification. And of course it's interesting for us, how will people estimate our work. But still we have to wait a little bit more. I want to tell one thing to all the fans of our modification. Thank you for your support. I think, that you won't be dissapointed, when the modification is released. Expect a big amount of updates till release! At a later point, RAGE Team then went on to reveal a more complete list of features that will be available in the first BETA release, these are: - East island territory, Starfish Island, Leaf Links and Prawn Island (West island territory won't be available in first BETA) - Fully Converted Weapons - Partly Converted Vehicles - Vehicle Paths for available areas - Protagonist and Partly Converted Peds - Original Sounds (SFX) - Original Music (Radio) - HUD - Side-Missions ![]() You can check out the latest trailer for Vice City RAGE just below, or by clicking here. Just to summarize, Vice City RAGE will be released on the 5th of January, 2012 and requires Grand Theft Auto: Episodes from Liberty City.
