Grand Theft Auto V - General News | @ 12:12 PM MDT | By Ash_735

If you're interested in the radio side of Grand Theft Auto games then you might want to check out an article we've just put up titled "Radio Inconsistency". In the article we talk about the changes, genre swaps and highlight the general complaints that you guys have with the radio line up of Grand Theft Auto V and as an added bonus, we reveal over 130 songs that were dropped or changed out of the game during it's five year production, including songs like "187 Proof", "Everybody Wants To Rule The World", "I'm Alright" and "Serious".

Good article. Thanks for writing it.

My biggest gripe with the Soundtrack is also my gripe for the Story, it has some really great elements but doesn't really have a definitive direction or go anywhere.

III I think was the only game they managed to succeed with a broad swath of music. Vice City was all the glitz and glam even the rock music was pretty upbeat and fun. Despite other great tracks, San Andreas was all about gangster and African American culture. K-Rose managed to carve out a great personality which echoed the narrative as well. IVs best station lends to the personality of Liberty City: subtle, depressing, and a bit touched. IVs radio really was fabulous even if it missed out on 70s punk pop.

All this to say, what succeeds in GTA is that it bolsters up (1) The City, (2) The Story, or (3) Rockstar's disturbed take on reality.

Non Stop Pop was a godsend but there's far too little of it. Rebel Radio much like the countryside in V lacks that magic to it and elsewhere the polish and sheen is wearing thin.

Love the game, lots of hours, but a little disappointed in many aspects of it tbh.

I didn't mind the radio at first--a couple stations I thought were kinda weak but overall I thought it was OK.

Then I saw the list of great music that didn't get in. Now I'm kinda pissed.

I thought most radio stations in GTA V are already awesome, but then I looked at the cut songs list. Damn! A lot of great songs didn't make it to the final game! Such a shame.

I've always admired rockstar on how they could make such a perfect selection of songs every time. There's always something for everyone, I don't care which songs they cut out..(there's no use in even looking it up). I personally think their selection is great like in the previous games.
