Dan Houser Discusses the GTA Series - General News | @ 01:21 PM MDT | By Kodo
There are two recent interviews with Dan Houser about the Grand Theft Auto series, as well as Rockstar's more recent releases like Red Dead Redemption and LA Noire. In the interviews, Dan Houser opens up about the design philosophy of the games and the work that goes into them. He explores the impact that GTA III has had on video games as a medium.

These interviews are very interesting if you wanted to learn the thinking behind the creation of the GTA series and Rockstar's other open-world games. Just follow the links below.

What is particularly interesting is this question about an international GTA setting. From his answer it looks like we can lay GTA: Bogota to rest.
Entertainment Weekly: Looking forward with the GTA series, would you want to do another international edition? You’ve been in America since GTA III.
Dan Houser: We go backwards and forwards on it. There are very interesting crime stories and other stories you can tell about anyplace in the world. Whether that would work with Grand Theft Auto — when so much about Grand Theft Auto is about the Americana, about the American media — is something I’m not sure about.

Although nothing is certain, as you can tell by his next answer.
EW: Are you looking to the next stage of the GTA franchise?
DH: There is gonna be one? I don’t know. [Smiles] I know nothing about anything after Max Payne 3.

Stop with the coyness, Dan. Everyone and their mother knows the game is in production right now. Nothing after MP, and Agent are on rockstars plate. It's obvious that the next GTA is going to be announced very soon.
