Would you be interested in a Blu-ray trilogy compilation? - General News | @ 07:38 AM MDT | By Zidane
Hey guys, I just wanted to inform you of the new poll for the website, and also wanted to get some feedback from you for the idea...

Basically, what would you, the hardcore fans of the series, think of a re-release of Grand Theft Auto 3, Vice City, and San Andreas, the best selling games for the PS2, on one Blu-ray disc for PS3? Of course, it would have things all current PlayStation 3 games have, like an in game XMB, instant messaging capabilities, trophy support, and more, and it would also benefit those who bought a PS3 and have no backwards compatibility support. Keep in mind, its only a thought, but it'd be interesting to see some fan reactions and opinions.

Thanks, and remember to vote!

Is this just an idea or will it actually happen? Either way I like it.

Another good thing would be a slight graphic improvement. Remember, we're talking PS3 here...

I think rockstar should actually do this, considering they made EFLC fer XB360 only...

I'd like that very muchos. Since I've lost my GTA 3 pc cd and my VC cd is broken.

Truthfully, they could fit GTA1, London 1969, 2, 3, VC, SA, LCS, and VCS, but I doubt they would. It would be cool to at least have the trilogy, though. I'd be hyped enough just having Vice City alone in HD and XMB support :D

For readers unaware, this is all down to the God of War Collection being released soon, which is God of War 1 and 2 (PS2 games) being rendered in 720p and running at 60fps instead of 30fps and some texture upgrades here and there. The games will also have their own set of trophies. Because of the changes it's enough to be classed as a PS3 game over a PSN release and this is something that can't be done on Xbox Live at least because those games would come under Xbox Compatibility, thus no achievements and no improvements.

If they do, I hope they do it for the 360 aswell. I've actually sent Microsoft an email asking them to re-release Vice City for the Xbox 360.

Hell yes I'd buy it. Vice City was my favorite PS2 game and my overall favorite GTA. Having that, GTA:SA, and GTA III on the same disc would be convenient and would allow me to sell my old PS2 discs.

Honestly i am surprised they aren't doing that yet, the originals sold hotcakes, having all 3; upscaled, trophies, xmb etc at the same price as GOW Collection, it would be a steal and another hotcake.

I would enjoy the stories being added as well, because then you could call it the "Complete GTA 3 collection". But i guess IF one does come the main 3 would be the most important.

Well. I have neither the XBOX360 neither the PlayStation3, so, neah xD

But I'd like to see an improved GTA SA on my PC, with GTA IV RAGE system, graphics and some more textures improvments. Nothing else. No new vehicles, no new weapons, no new properties, good old missions.

"That's the way, hum hum, hum hum, I like it" xD

I would love this! The trophy support alone would be awesome. Give me a new reason to play through them all again!

That would be awesome for PS3 owners. Especially if they touch the graphics a tad. The XBOX1 and PC versions were always better graphics and sound wise, just that the playstation version was exclusive for a year and it dosen't have the power of the other two. Now we can get the best of the best. Yes do it. Also, if they had a disk form of it that downloads the games to your HDD for 360 owners, then I'd be double stooked.

Trophy / Achievement support? Sounds great; I like where this is going! Only thing I don't like about that is having to redo 100% completion.

@Reiji - I wouldn't be bothered if there's achievement/trophy support. It's worth it, innit?

I'd like this a LOT. Playing the previous GTA trilogy native on the PS3 hardware would be pretty sweet. I'd buy it on day one for sure, and it would be hella fun to play through each of them again. I hope Rockstar Games do decide to do this.

While I think it is an awsome idea, I also think that if us people on Xbox dont get it we really can't complain becuase after playing the episodes from Liberty City, I feel for the people on PS3. Only playing GTAIV without the episodes is like only watching 1 part of a movie and not fininshing it to reveal the rest.

Now the proud owner of both 360 & PS3 I have to say that the 360 is holding the gaming industry back. I say ditch the 360 and produce GTA5 for the PS3!! Could you imagine the size of the city if they fully utilized blu ray?

This is an excellent idea.
I would also love for it to be a bluray PS3 exclusive!

I would definitely buy it in a heartbeat.
Hopefully R* will look at this topic!

The only reason I could see them not doing this is if they are revisiting the same cities again in future games.
