Major progress in GTA IV scripting

Grand Theft Auto IV - Modifications | @ 02:35 PM CST | By rappo
This week one of the modders that brought you Sanny Builder and CLEO mods for San Andreas, Alexander Blade, made a beta release for a similar project in GTA IV called Alice.

This powerful scripting tool allows you to install and run user-created scripts in GTA IV, all coded in a scripting language known as LUA. The library of functions available creates a wide array of possibilities with this new tool. Alice was just released so there aren't too many mods available for it now, but its future is very promising.

For now, snag the Alice project download which comes with the scripting library as well as a couple of example scripts (a "Superman" mod that gives you infinite ammo and makes Niko invicible, a "save anywhere" mod that lets you save your game by pressing tab, and a script to show your current coordinates).

For more information on Alice, read this thread at GTAForums.com.
