2013 PSA: Games for Windows Live closing down
Grand Theft Auto IV - General News | @ 06:30 PM CST | By Ash_735
Still play Grand Theft Auto IV or Episodes from Liberty City multiplayer? Well we have some bad news for you guys, Microsoft is pulling the plug on their Games for Windows Live (GFWL) service, with the end date being July 1st, 2014. After this date, any games using Games for Windows Live that have not been patched or made the transition over to Steamworks or their own service will lose all online abilities, save games and DLC purchases, as well as any activations that were required through Games for Windows Live services.
What does this mean? Well Grand Theft Auto IV and Episodes from Liberty City currently have no plans to be patched or transitioned, therefore come July 1st, 2014, multiplayer for these games will effectively be killed outright and for those of you who purchased The Lost and Damned or The Ballad of Gay Tony as DLC, will lose out on those DLC packages. The majority of people will lose access to the game completely and must chose to play without GFWL or use a plug in such as XLiveLess to bypass the Games for Windows Live shell (which at that point would be nothing more than bloatware).
What can we do? Nothing much I'm afraid, if you have purchased TLAD or TBOGT through GFWL as DLC then I'm afraid that's literally going to be money lost, if you wish to continue playing GTA IV or EFLC, then we recommend using XLiveLess, if you have your save games on GFWL then there are guides out there to help you reclaim these save files for offline use. As for multiplayer, we're afraid that will be simply dying out unless Rockstar decide to patch the game to either Steamworks or their own Social Club service.

Grand Theft Auto V - General News | @ 04:12 PM CST | By rappo
For those not interested in purchasing the physical copy of the game, the Day 1 Digital version of Grand Theft Auto V is now available for pre-order on the PlayStation Network. Rockstar confirms that all digital pre-orderers will get to fly the Atomic Blimp like those who pre-order the physical copy.
But wait! There's more!
As an added bonus, Day 1 Digital pre-orders will also receive an exclusive PS3 theme along with 75% off on any Rockstar full game title on PSN* (to help tide you over these last few weeks before GTAV hits on September 17th).
2013 ESRB Rating Summary
Grand Theft Auto V - General News | @ 07:00 AM CST | By Ash_735
We revealed a few weeks back that Grand Theft Auto V got the M rating from the ESRB, but now a detailed summary has been added to the website to give a better insight as to why it got such a rating:
In this open-world action game, players assume the role of three criminals whose storylines intersect within the fictional city of Los Santos. Players can switch between each character to follow his storyline, completing missions which often include criminal activities (e.g., stealing cars, executing heists, assassinating targets). Players use pistols, machine guns, sniper rifles, and explosives to kill various enemies (e.g., rival gang members); players also have the ability to shoot non-adversary civilians, though this may negatively affect players' progress as a penalty system triggers a broad police search. Blood-splatter effects occur frequently, and the game contains rare depictions of dismemberment. In one sequence, players are directed to use various instruments and means to extract information from a character; the sequence is intense and prolonged, and it involves some player interaction (i.e., responding to on-screen prompts). The game includes depictions of sexual material/activity: implied fellatio and masturbation; various sex acts that the player's character procures from a prostitute—while no nudity is depicted in these sequences, various sexual moaning sounds can be heard. Nudity is present, however, primarily in two settings: a topless lap dance in a strip club and a location that includes male cult members with exposed genitalia in a non-sexual context. Within the game, TV programs and radio ads contain instances of mature humor: myriad sex jokes; depictions of raw sewage and feces on a worker's body; a brief instance of necrophilia (no nudity is depicted). Some sequences within the larger game allow players to use narcotics (e.g., smoking from a bong, lighting a marijuana joint); cocaine use is also depicted. Players' character can, at various times, consume alcohol and drive while under the influence. The words “f**k,” “c*nt,” and “n**ger” can be heard in the dialogue.
In other news, the cover of the Limited Edition version of the Grand Theft Auto V BradyGames Guide has been revealed:
