The PSP version of Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars is now available from North American retailers and for digital download (527 MB required) via the PlayStation Store for $39.99.

The game will be available in Europe this Friday, October 23rd.

Last night, the first reviews for the game went live and overall received very positive scores, including two 10's from Play Magazine and Videogamer.com, a 9.5 from Now Gamer, a 9 from Eurogamer, and a 4.5/5 from GamePro

Alongside the launch, Rockstar has released a new gameplay video, "Out for Revenge" and another PSP exclusive audio preview from DJ Khalil:

In addition to the celebration of the game's release, new Chinatown Wars features have been added over at the Rockstar Games Social Club:
  • Peking Duck Hunt, an arcade-style mini-game similar to Mr. Wong's Laundry in which you can play to earn extra in-game money.

  • Guide Map pinpointing the locations of every drug dealer, security camera, rampage, an stunt jump in the game.

  • New Papercraft Models which can be printed out and created into origami figures representing vehicles, weapons, and characters from the game.

Ballad of Gay Tony: Soundtrack Details

Grand Theft Auto IV - General News | @ 01:43 PM MDT | By Slim Trashman
The official Ballad of Gay Tony website has been updated with new information on the game's soundtrack details. Among the station updates include Electrochoc, K109: The Studio, and Vladivostok FM.

Perhaps the most exciting news, however, is the inclusion of a brand new, Episodes From Liberty City exclusive station, Vice City FM, bringing the best of the 1980s to Liberty City, hosted by Fernando Martinez. Fernando has made numerous radio appearances throughout GTA history, but is most prominently remembered for hosting Emotion 98.3 in Vice City.

Rockstar promises that there are still more soundtrack updates to come. New audio previews are available below:

First TBoGT gameplay footage + more multiplayer details

Grand Theft Auto IV - General News | @ 12:23 PM MDT | By rappo, Slim Trashman
UPDATE: Another new video from IGN: Nightlife Montage. Check it out below:

Earlier today, IGN posted the first actual gameplay footage of The Ballad of Gay Tony seen on the Internet! The video is a montage of all the various explosions you can expect from the upcoming DLC:

Also available now at The Ballad of Gay Tony's official website is new multiplayer info regarding the Race and GTA Race modes. The site says that the intensity of races have been upped with the introduction of nitrous in all vehicles. The website goes over the mode details and which cars will be available - so far the APC-only race is sounding pretty interesting...

And lastly (as if the rest wasn't enough!) Rockstar Games has released a new "multiplayer trailer" for The Ballad of Gay Tony which features a mock extreme basejumping competition:

Enjoy! And remember, today is the last day to enter the GTAGaming Ballad of Gay Tony Giveaway!

Happy Birthday Grand Theft Auto III & GTA2! (Zidane too!)

Grand Theft Auto III - General News | @ 03:13 PM MDT | By Slim Trashman
Today we celebrate the 8th anniversary since GTA III's historic release on October 22nd, 2001, forever redefining video games. Check out the game's trailers below:

Today also marks a decade of GTA2, celebrating its 10th anniversary. Check out the game's "real life" intro video if you haven't seen it before: GTA2 Intro VideoOFFICIAL GTA2 WEBSITE

And of course, who could forget GTAGaming's beloved co-founder, Casey (Zidane), who also shares this day with GTA III and GTA2 (destiny... destiny) and celebrates his 22nd birthday today!

Hopefully all of you will find some time today to honor these historic releases by bludgeoning hookers with a baseball bat and stealing a car or two (in the game of course!) and relive some awesome nostalgia.

Chinatown Wars PSP: Gamespot's highest rated PSP game of all time

GTA: Chinatown Wars - General News | @ 03:29 PM MDT | By Slim Trashman
Matching the score of its DS counterpart, Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars has earned itself the bragging right of being Gamespot's highest rated PSP game of all time with a review score of 9.5/10, surpassing even its PSP predecessors, GTA: Liberty City & Vice City Stories
At first glance, Chinatown Wars could be mistaken for a return to the Grand Theft Auto series' humble 2D beginnings. The action is viewed from a more or less top-down perspective, and of course you still spend much of your time driving stolen cars and causing trouble with firearms. But the similarities between this superb PSP game and its '90s progenitors pretty much end there. Chinatown Wars actually has more in common with GTAs III and IV than it does with earlier games, and, remarkably, it even adds to and improves on the formula that made those games so successful. That's a bold statement for sure, but Chinatown Wars really is that good... It's also one of the best GTA games yet.

GameSpot notes in their review that the only flaws with the game are its lack of support for more than 2 people in multiplayer, camera issues, and some DS minigames not working well on the platform.

To back up the claim, the article goes into some details about Yusuf's character and one of his missions, named "Caught With Your Pants Down". Basically the goal is to snag a NOOSE APC tank and take it back to Yusuf - read the mission details on IGN or watch the videos below:
