SEPNew Chinatown Wars zone with more screenshots and info
GTA: Chinatown Wars - Website Updates | @ 05:11 PM CST | By rappo
Today we've added a new zone to GTAGaming dedicated to serving GTA: Chinatown Wars. In this zone you'll be able to read all of the most recent Chinatown News as well as browse all of our content pages. It is also accessible via the new "CW" button in the top navigation, just to the right of GTA IV.
This area of the site just recently received some new updates that organized the information released in Nintendo Power into convenient content pages. The following pages also contain some new screenshots, artwork, and other information previously unposted on the homepage:

SEPOfficial GTAGaming IRC channel
GTAGaming.com - Website Updates | @ 09:05 PM CST | By rappo + Koolio
This past week Koolio has been hard at work in order to bring you GTAGaming's latest feature: our very own IRC network! It's been long overdue, but we think it's better late than never.
There are two ways in which you can begin chatting. The first option is for users who want to connect through their browser using a convenient Java applet. The applet launcher can be found at our IRC channel page. Simply type in the username you want, select the channel to join, and the chatbox will pop up in a new window so you can continue browsing GTAGaming. However, for those that want to connect using their own IRC client (for example, Windows: mIRC / OS X: Colloquy), use the following information:
Channels: #gta (General GTA discussion), #vco (Vice City Online chat), #ot (Off-Topic discussion), #help (IRC Help)
The network details above can also be found at our new GTAGaming IRC channel page for quick reference.
The rules are currently being written, but until then just keep on the same behavior as you would in our forums. Read our forum rules if you have some question as to what's acceptable, but if you keep from flooding channels with posts and making derogatory remarks, you should be fine. Enjoy your chatting, and don't forget to register your nickname once you join!

SEPLiberty City awash with drugs in Chinatown Wars
GTA: Chinatown Wars - General News | @ 08:04 AM CST | By Neil
British gaming bible EDGE is the first European magazine to publish a preview of Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars. While it's only just arriving with subscribers today, the magazine has published some details about the game on its website. Notably, word is given that there will be a full drug dealing minigame to get to grips with:
"Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars will have a complete drug dealing minigame, which will allow players to peddle six types of drugs around the city. Players will make a profit by recognizing market conditions and demands based on geography and plying their wares accordingly."The issue also includes an interview with Dan Houser from Rockstar Games, who mentions that the title will be for mature audiences and that Nintendo is pleased about how it's turning out.
SEPJack Thompson disbarred in Florida
GTAGaming.com - General News | @ 10:20 PM CST | By rappo
Who today will fight for anti-video game justice in Florida? Not former attorney Jack Thompson, that's for sure. After a lengthy journey through the court systems, Jack Thompson has "[been] permanently disbarred without leave to apply for readmission to The Florida Bar." Basically, this means he is no longer able to practice law in the state of Florida.
If you're into legal mumbo-jumbo, you can check out the full full court documents at Joystiq.
Thanks to kamil and Know Buddy for the news
SEPFurther Chinatown Wars details
GTA: Chinatown Wars - General News | @ 05:53 AM CST | By Neil
As we mentioned earlier this week, the latest issue of EDGE is now on sale in the UK. The magazine features a six-page preview of Chinatown Wars which is based on a play session in New York, not at Games Convention in Leipzig as a few had speculated.
The magazine reveals a couple of details about the game. Notably, carjacking will be a much more detailed process this time around with a mini game involving ramming a screwdriver into the ignition socket of the car and rotating using the stylus until the motor is yours.
Dan Houser told the magazine that the isometric viewpoint of the game was not a new idea - they had experimented with it between the launches of GTA2 and GTA III. It's not as simple as you might think though - there is the flexibility included to shoot over shorter items and the camera is intelligent in its rotation.
Another minigame involves raking through one of the city's New York-esque dumpsters in the search of weapons. You have to lift a couple of trash bags out of the way to find the stashed weapon beneath. EDGE says that this will be one of the "simplest" minigames in Chinatown Wars.
Thanks to Colin for providing access to this issue of EDGE magazine
SEPHalf price Rockstar titles this weekend
GTAGaming.com - General News | @ 04:59 PM CST | By Neil
If you don't have an Xbox 360 and aren't in on the fun of the GTA IV Xbox Live Weekend that is running at the moment then Rockstar has an alternative treat for you.
Until Monday, all of the company's titles on Steam are selling for half their regular price, which results in some tasty bargains.
The prices vary depending on where you live but you can get GTA III or Vice City for as little as $4.99 and San Andreas for $9.99. There are also packs incorporating all of the GTA games or all of Rockstar's games, including Manhunt and Max Payne.
