DECNew GTA IV Vehicles page
Grand Theft Auto IV - Website Updates | @ 04:30 PM CST | By rappo
Keeping up with our spree of content updates, we now bring you a GTA IV vehicles page. However, as stated on the page, please keep in mind that the list of vehicles with their respective names is all speculation. If we gave a vehicle a name from a past GTA game, it is merely based off of some resemblance. Others don't have names because they may be new vehicles or unrecognizable upgrades. And remember, as always, if you know of any changes or additions to the page, please post in our GTA IV forums.
DECT2: Still no clarification on GTA IV release
Grand Theft Auto IV - General News | @ 04:09 PM CST | By Neil + Slim Trashman
Take Two Interactive today released its financial results for the final quarter of fiscal year 2007, which ended on 31st October. The company's finances are in improving shape, with an increase in profit being attributed to Bioshock's impressive sales, which have crossed the two million mark.
Often the company uses this time as an opportunity to reveal final release dates for upcoming titles but today all the company would clarify about Grand Theft Auto IV was that it will be on store shelves in the second fiscal quarter of 2008. This means that it will release some time between February 1st and April 30th. The company restated that it is committed to seeing the game release simultaneously on both Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.
The company also confirmed that the first episodic content for GTA IV will hit Xbox 360 by 31st October 2008. The second of the packages, which Microsoft famously paid a total of $50million for, will release some time before 31st October 2009. The significance of this is that it almost certainly rules out any further GTA titles appearing at retail before 2010.
An interesting question was fielded to executives during the associated conference call - will Grand Theft Auto IV be coming to Nintendo Wii? The company's response was that "there are other titles better suited for the Wii than Grand Theft Auto IV". While this suggests that GTA IV won't be released for Wii, they did not rule out the possibility of an alternative or unique game being released for the growing platform.

DECMCV: GTA IV coming April 2008
Grand Theft Auto IV - General News | @ 09:09 AM CST | By Neil
Games industry publication MCV has the scoop today on Grand Theft Auto IV's release date, claiming that the title will go on sale in the final week of April 2008. Citing sources "close to the game's publisher" they say that the game will go on sale in the United Kingdom on April 25th.
This appears to follow recent trends for Grand Theft Auto release dates, which have almost always been pushed back to be in the final week of Take 2 Interactive's fiscal quarters. Yesterday, the company said that the game would go on sale some time in its second fiscal quarter of 2008, which ends on April 30th.
A UK release date of April 25th would indicate that the game would release just prior to this in North America, with Tuesday April 22nd most likely. As usual though, Rockstar Games said that it does not comment on "rumours and speculation".
MCV is the UK's top games industry trade publication and has more credibility than most others worldwide. Its forecasts and industry insider comment are almost always true, with a recent example being its advanced notice of goings on with Manhunt 2 in the UK.

DECJudge throws out Thompson Vice City case
GTA: Vice City - General News | @ 12:50 PM CST | By Neil
A 2006 case raised in New Mexico, USA by attorney Jack Thompson which alleged that GTA: Vice City was a catalyst in a brutal murder was thrown out of court yesterday. In 2004, teenager Cody Posey murdered his father, stepmother and stepsister, resulting in Thompson raising a case claiming that Take Two and Sony were to blame as the teenager had played GTA: Vice City.
"We are pleased that the Court took decisive and appropriate action to dismiss a case that Take-Two has always known had no basis in law or in fact."
The Judge disposed of the case because neither Sony nor Take Two Interactive has offices or business presence in the state of New Mexico. Thompson has 30 days to file an appeal.

DECGameTrailers: Trailer 3 "Pop-Block"
Grand Theft Auto IV - General News | @ 11:19 PM CST | By Slim Trashman
GameTrailers & Rockstar have intercommunicated with each other and created this edit of trailer 3, "Move up, ladies", containing in video messages during certain scenes and which will provide viewers with a little detail or two about it. There's nothing really new here shown in these "pop-blocks", but if you're interested, it's worth taking a look. I have, however, outlined a couple bits of information below:
• This is the Caribbean arms dealer (middle), Little Jacob ("Sup, money?"), with Niko on the left and Elizabeta on the right. It would appear Little Jacob's appearance varies from dreadlocks to "Cesar"..
• Elizabeta is a good dancer.
• As usual, you will start out the game working with your fists and eventually obtain weapons.
• Brucie's ("THAT'S HOW WE ROLL!") tattoo of the Chinese symbol on his chest translates to "ME".
• Billiards (pool) will return from San Andreas as one of the many available mini games in GTA IV.
