NOVGTA IV Mentioned In Kane & Lynch: Dead Men
Grand Theft Auto IV - General News | @ 04:14 PM CST | By ash_735
Upcoming game, Kane & Lynch: Dead Men, has cleverly referenced Grand Theft Auto IV in one of their latest teasers. In it, Kane mentions that the game will be great and that he has played the other three and that he's waiting for the new one because it's late again and that it has slipped to next year, causing Lynch to voice his opinion on delays.

NOVT2: No Set Release Date For GTA IV
Grand Theft Auto IV - General News | @ 04:13 PM CST | By ash_735
Strauss Zelnick, chairman of Take2, has said that they won't give a final date of the release of Grand Theft Auto IV until he's "utterly convinced" that the game is finished. Speaking at a conference, he went on to say...
"It's a fair question given that we weren't able to stick to our firm date the last time. We're going to give a firm date when we are utterly convinced that we have it and that isn't right now; we know it's highly anticipated. Right now our view is to put out a high quality title and we're not in the business of disappointing investors."
He also commented on the company’s views about missing the Christmas sales time for this year...
"I think most people see it as okay – hardware penetration is going to grow over Christmas and because this is a must-have title it's probably okay that we're not selling it in the Christmas season,"
He went on to mention the Downloadable Content for the 360 version too...
"It actually isn't really significant in terms of its contribution in 2008, it's something we ought to be doing and my guess is that's where the industry is going. If you believe over time that package goods will be supplemented very much with online downloadable content, and you believe as I do that the future of playing interactive entertainment is networked multiplayer, then there's every reason to believe that downloadable content makes all kinds of sense. And eventually if you have a packaged good and you sell upgrades it's a pretty terrific business model for everyone. I think it could be really interesting, but to be clear, it's not in our plans and we're not relying on it for our success,"
NOVOffended Or Upset About Hot Coffee? Make $35!
GTA: San Andreas - Rockstar/Take2 News | @ 03:54 PM CST | By Slim Trashman
Take 2 has just recently posted a new press release concerning the Hot Coffee mod and a "preliminary settlement of consumer class action".
Under the terms of the settlement, class members will be able to claim benefits if they swear that they: (a) bought a copy of Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas before July 20, 2005; (b) were offended and upset by the ability of consumers to modify and alter the game's content using the third-party Hot Coffee modification; (c ) would not have bought the game had they known that consumers could modify and alter the game's content using the third-party Hot Coffee modification; and (d) would have returned the game, upon learning the game could be modified and altered, if they thought this possible. Settlement class members who attest to these facts may apply for benefits that range from an exchange of the game disk for an edited copy of Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas to a cash payment of up to $35 for consumers who submit detailed proofs of purchase.
Well we would hope that none of the fans would cheat Rockstar out of their money. This is typically for soccer moms, with the exception of Jack Thompson of course.
