OCTLCS Updates!

The official LCS site has been updated with a new trailer, showing off the multiplayer feature in action! Looks effin' amazing. Go check it out!

In other Liberty City Stories news, EuroGamer announced earlier today that the UK release of the game has been pushed to November 4th, the same day the GTA Trilogy comes out in the UK.

Expect website updates here throughout the day with all the new screenshots and information released.

OCTIGN Review Plus Others

As some of you already know, GTA: Liberty City Stories is currently available in very few stores (mainly reported from Canada) and will be officially released tomorrow. However, gaming sites have already got their hands on the game and have their reviews written to feed your fire of anxiety! So far IGN's review is the one to read. It contains a lot of information about missions and basic gameplay with eight new screenshots. Here's how they stacked up the game:
  • Presentation - 9.0
    Awesome production values. Great art, voice work, graphics, load times.
  • Graphics - 9.0
    It's GTA III on a handheld, only now with more graphical effects. Pretty snazzy.
  • Sound - 9.5
    Incredible tunes, voice talent and sound effects.
  • Gameplay - 8.5
    Definitely feels less refined than console versions, but the experience is engaging and satisfying nonetheless.
  • Lasting Appeal - 9.5
    Tons of extras, hidden bonuses and seven very fun multiplayer modes.

    OVERALL - 9.0/10

    Edisoncarter is at it again! After the slew of San Andreas cheats he found, he is now working on uncovering cheats for Liberty City Stories. Although there is surely a lot more to come, here is what has been found so far:
    Weapon Set 1

    OCT    GTA Retrospective

    The Grand Theft Auto Retrospective is a nice little article published by UGO.com Games that goes over the history of the GTA series.
    Come take a trip through time, and see how a franchise went from a cult hit to a cultural phenomenon, set the tone for an entire generation, and made open-ended gameplay a buzzword of the early 21st century. It's a long, bumpy ride, but at the end, Grand Theft Auto stands tall as the game that changed everything.

    The article discusses everything from the topdown GTAs to Liberty City Stories (including a review of the game). It does a pretty good job at compiling information about and screenshots of the games in the series, and that's why I thought it was worth a read.

    Here's a pretty cool nugget of joy for everyone who has (or is getting) Liberty City Stories... this allows players to add their own music into the game, and also create the name of the new "station" text that displays when you enter a vehicle. It basically converts the audio into a format specifically for the PSP, so if you play it back on a PC it won't sound good, but it sounds perfect in game. It cuts the file size down when it converts so its easier on your memory stick, and has basically keeps the same quality, and is much better than just a standard MP3 file addition. I've tested it with my GTASA radio station, and it works pretty damn good!



    You need to rip the audio from a CD, not just an mp3 file on your hard drive...(left), testing the station and text in game... it works perfectly! (right).
