MARGTA: San Andreas - PC Version Revealed!

German Magazine Gamestar have finally taken the wraps off of GTA: San Andreas' PC version with an exclusive preview in their magazine which goes on sale in the country this Wednesday. The issue contains a very detailed preview of the game and plenty of never-before-seen screenshots, including the one below:

MARSan Andreas PC - Further Details and Screenshots

Our friends at German fansite GTAReactor have provided us with four brand new screenshots of GTA: San Andreas' PC version. They also posted a short summary of the eight-page article which appeared in Gamestar magazine.
  • Draw distance is vastly improved in the PC version
  • The development team are trying extra hard to ensure the game looks as good as possible. Much higher resolution models, real time reflection mapping (think Vice City on Xbox) and higher polygon models are all included.
  • MP3 music stations are back. This time, however, your MP3's will be complimented by a DJ and some advertisements, just like a real radio station!

Infinite Health
Makes you bulletproof, fire, punches and melee attacks don't hurt either.
However, you can still be hurt by falling, explosions, drowning and getting run over.

MARPlayStation Portable now available in North America

The launch of one of the most important pieces of gaming hardware ever took place earlier this morning. Some of you may have noticed the poll we've been running on the site all week, and it seems that PSP might not be in for the easy ride 'Stateside that many had predicted. Just 27% of those who took the time to respond will be buying a PSP today, and looking at my own research, it seems that very few people actually know that PSP is available today.

Well, the good news is that gamers all across North America can now get their hands on a PlayStation Portable Value Pack for a SRP of $249, which includes the console itself, a 32mb memory stick, soft case, cleaning cloth and earphones. You'll also get a full length UMD version of the movie Spider-Man 2. A wealth of good quality launch titles are available, including Ridge Racer, Tony Hawk's Underground 2: Remix and the bizarre trading card game Metal Gear: Acid.

With an extremely good looking catalogue of games to come, including Gran Turismo 4 and an all new Grand Theft Auto title, PSP seems like it has the strength to be a contender in the handheld market.

Unfortunately, the same pretty picture cannot be painted of Europe, where Sony has stated the launch is a number of months away, but has yet to set a firm date. Current indications suggest July as a release month, but these are purely speculative. When it does arrive, expect to be paying a premium price, UK gamers should expect to pay no less than £180 ($350US) for the console.

Those of you lucky enough to live in North America who have $250 burning a hole in their pocket would be well advised to get down to their nearest retailer and pick up PSP, if you don't do it today, you will do it in the future!
