DECSan Andreas Wins Four Gamespot Awards

Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas wipes out the rest of the competition and wins practically all of the Gamespot awards that it was nominated for. Although Ryder failed to achieve the Best New Character award, San Andreas reeled in four other awards including Best Action Adventure Game, Best Voice Acting, Funniest Game, and Best PlayStation 2 Game.

San Andreas is also one of the finalists for the best award of all - Best Gamespot 2004's Game of the Year! Although the winner has not been announced, San Andreas has a good chance at winning the award. One of ten finalists for this award, San Andreas will go up against other big games such as Burnout 3: Takedown, Halo 2, World of Warcraft, and many others. I would also like to add that San Andreas has been nominated for three of IGN's Best of 2004 PlayStation 2 section. These three awards are Best Action Game, Best Soundtrack, and Best Story. DECSan Andreas - Str8 Jack Contest

Rockstar Games today announced that they are holding a contest on the Official San Andreas Site where the top prize is one of five San Andreas BMX Bicycles! Winners and runners up will receive a prize pack stuffed full of San Andreas merchandise aswell! As per usual, the contest is only open to residents of the United States aged over 18, or who have parental permission. Good luck from GTAGaming!

DECRockstar Classics Volume 3 - GTA2

An early christmas present has arrived from Rockstar in the form of Grand Theft Auto 2, which is now available for free download! Re-released as part of their "Classics" series, the 353MB download contains every feature included in the original game which hit shelves back in 1999 and was overlooked by many.
GTA2 expanded on the top-down, open-ended crime world gameplay formula with a host of new features including the advent of multiple rival gangs – seven, to be exact, including the Yakuza, Scientists, Looneys, Rednecks, Zaibatsu, the Russian Mob and Hare Krishnas. Earn your respect with each gang in this recoded version fully optimised for modern PC's and Windows versions.

This will likely be one of the final news posts of 2004, so I'm taking this opportunity to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas, and I hope Santa is brilliant to you all. 2004 was my first year at GTAGaming, and I've loved every minute of bringing coverage of GTA: San Andreas and GTA: Advance to our visitors. The level of support everyone gives us through the forums, comments and in the wider world is mind-blowing. Thank you all!
Looking forward, 2005 will surely present more exciting opportunities, with the release of San Andreas on Xbox, and more importantly PC (I love mods!). Could we also see a PSP version of our favourite series being announced and released?!

Once again, thank you everyone for supporting us so much over the past twelve months and we look forward to providing the same level of coverage next year!

PS: I hope you're all loving the 'Ganton Trees' graphic at the top. Just a little number I knocked together specifically for this news post!
