NOVUK Gamers Go Crazy for San Andreas! GTA: San Andreas - General News | @ 06:17 AM CST | By Neil
When October 29th finally rolled around last week some anxious gamers spent several hours queueing outside their local GAME store, desperate to get their hands on a copy of San Andreas. Luckily for them, 12:00 midnight came around pretty quickly, and the employees of the London Oxford Street branch were ready to sell, sell, sell! The actual sales figures for the first week haven't been announced yet, but if the interesting photos below (thanks to Jon Jordan) are anything to go by, it's surely going to hit the top of this week's chart. Sony today announced that a whopping 74million Playstation 2 consoles have been sold since its 2001 launch, bringing the total number of Playstation & Playstation 2 units to 100million.

NOVUK Gamers Really Are Crazy About San Andreas! GTA: San Andreas - General News | @ 12:38 PM CST | By Neil
Yesterday I reported on the amazing queues that formed in some games retailers in the UK on Friday morning, San Andreas' launch day. Today, the official UK games charts were released, with San Andreas finding its way to the top of the All Formats & PS2 charts, ahead of games like Fifa 2005, Pro Evolution Soccer 4 and Tony Hawk's Underground 2. Amazingly, UK sales monitor Chart-Track has estimated that the game sold 677,000 copies in the country alone over just two days of trading (Friday/Saturday). This brings the total sales to around £24.2million ($44.3m), and surpasses previous titles in the series like GTA: Vice City by more than double. Even more astoundingly, only 10 other PS2 titles have sold more copies in their entire lifetimes! This is great news for Rockstar North, Rockstar Games, Take 2 Interactive and of course - their shareholders.
Oh, and check our latest poll. It's not related to GTA, but is kinda a thriving issue for everyone at the moment. I'll change it tomorrow after the results come in :) Related Link: Full UK Games Charts

NOVElection Coverage GTAGaming.com - General News | @ 08:07 PM CST | By Kodo
Well the polls are closing nationwide so there's not much we can do now but wait anxiously for the votes to be counted. If you're looking for good election coverage I found great stats on the front page of CNN.com and there's also the full map results. You can even select a state to see how the voting is going in each county. The stats also auto-update so you don't need to refresh. It's been said that we won't know the results until tomorrow instead of the usual midnight but let's wait and see. A candidate needs at least 270 electoral votes to win the presidential election. At the time of this post Bush currently has more electoral votes but like I said just watch the CNN site for live updates. Or of course watch tv coverage for as late as you want to. I'm aware that a majority of this site's fanbase cannot vote but the least you can do is stay up to date with political news, because this election matters perhaps more than ever.
