2004 Possible Dog in San Andreas?
GTA: San Andreas - General News | @ 11:16 PM CST | By rappo
After much speculation of the existence of wildlife, or any animals for that matter, in San Andreas, the trailer proved that this could very well be correct. In one scene, the shape of a dog sitting on the beach can be made out. Although the quality of the image is not great, the dog is pretty visible (but with Rockstar... you never know. This could also possible be someone starting to lay down, although the nose does look like a dog's snout. However, this is not completely confirmed). Here are the images taken by Fresh Rolly G and posted by rebelsouth2007 of the GTA5.com forums:
The phrase "call in the K-9 units" (sounds that are heard when you put your mouse over B-Dup's house in Ganton) from the Official San Andreas Website also suggests that dogs will be seen in San Andreas. Note: this phrase has now been removed from the website. Could this mean that Rockstar doesn't want their secret out?

2004 London Black Cab
GTA: Vice City - Modifications | @ 04:42 PM CST | By rappo
This was made for the total conversion mod, GTA: London. It is obviously not the highest quality mod out there... but it is pretty cool nevertheless. You can give Vice City that London feel with this cool model of the London Black Cab. This mod replaces the Cabbie, not the Taxi.

2004 A Different Side of Modding

This is an interesting survey being conducted by Tero Laukkanen, a researcher at the Hypermedia Laboratory / Game Research Lab of the University of Tampere, Finland. Here's information on the purpose of this survey:
Hello GTA modders,
As a part of a research project on user-created game content and gaming communities, I conducted email interviews with GTA modders in May-June. I can now finally present some preliminary findings from those interviews. I apologize if this has taken longer than expected.
The purpose of the interviews was to gain an insiderís view to the GTA modding scene as a whole and to better understand the mindset of an individual GTA modder. Issues of particular interest were the motivations behind modding (and game selection), the dynamics of the online community, and the relationship between modders and game developers. The responses from GTAForums members provided valuable insights on all these areas, but also left some questions open and raised new questions.
Rather than sending out a new round of email interviews, I have included some additional queries among the findings. To answer the follow-up questions and/or comment the findings, reply directly to the forum thread. Who knows, maybe some actual discussion will arise here. And feel free to share your two cents whether you participated in the initial interview or not!
The topics covered are:
- Modder profiles and motivations
- Modding as a social (?) hobby
- Learning the craft
- Modding the GTAs
- The issue of developer support
Note: Throughout the summations I will include anonymous quotations directly from the interviews. I have shortened some of the quotations (missing parts marked [Ö]) and corrected some typos.

This is a pretty funny mod for the Benson. The model is very good and the textures aren't half bad. However, there are some problems - Tommy's feet go right through the front and the front wheels aren't always on the ground. Other than that, this is a cool mod. It comes with its own .col file, so there's no need to play with the big old bulky benson.col file.

2004 Razor XL
GTA: Vice City - Modifications | @ 11:06 PM CST | By rappo
It's very interesting how this car is set up. There are no actual textures for the car except the reflections, which, might I add, are very well done. This could be a good thing, but also a bad thing at the same time. Meaning - no license plate. Actually, the entire rear of this car is kind of plain. But, it makes up for that in style. This car replaces the Comet, so you get all the cool convertible animations along with it!
