Italian PlayStation Magazines

GTAGaming.com - General News | @ 12:37 AM MDT | By rappo
Both PSM Italy and PlayStation2 Magazine were released in Italy this week. The articles were trasnlated by Alessio of GTA-Series and God of Gta of GTANetwork. Here are some clips that may interest you:
  • Rockstar programmers told us that maybe in the final game we can change tattoos or clotes on CJ.
  • All game's pedestrians have a "brain" and they react more actively respect the past GTA's, with more animations.
  • Dan Houser [co-founder of Rockstar Games] says that he cannot find any way to complete the game in less than 150 hours.
  • The dimensions are enormous. Keep in mind that just Los Santos is as big as the entire play area of Vice City and it is just ¼ of the dimension of the map of San Andreas. Between the three centers, there is also the famous ‘countryside’, which we didn’t see and weren’t told anything about except that the visual profundity, in the pastoral region, will be four times that seen before.

  • Big thanks to Alessio, God of GTA, and Nick.

    Radio Station Music Decoder

This is utility for converting Radio station files (*.adf) from GTA Vice City game to music format (*.mp3) and back. This is by far the easiest converter I've seen out there. It's simple, and yet so effective.

    New Wallpaper

    GTAGaming.com - General News | @ 09:41 PM MDT | By rappo
This wallpaper is composed by Darkon_X (with the illustrations by Rockstar, of course). It's cool because it not only has illustrations from San Andreas, but Vice City and GTAIII as well... sort of a history of the Grand Theft Auto series all in one excellent wallpaper:

    Great Fan Art

    GTAGaming.com - General News | @ 02:07 PM MDT | By rappo
Here's some awesome fan art done by Michael D'Amico. Although, it's not a wallpaper, it's still pretty cool. It is 700x200 (not allowed for a signature on the forums) so I resized it for another version. Check it out:

    Ferrenzo 690 M

    GTAGaming.com - General News | @ 04:02 PM MDT | By Neil
Monitor57 has created this fantastic car mod for Myriad Islands (although it'll work fine in Vice City). By taking the Ferrari Enzo as a base and rounding it off, not forgetting adding his own unique texture style to it, he has developed a car which would turn heads if it were real. It's just over 100KB, so won't break your modem.

Snoop Dogg and Dr Dre to provide music for San Andreas?

    GTAGaming.com - General News | @ 02:29 PM MDT | By Neil
According to their record label, Death Row Records, some music in San Andreas will be provided by Snoop Dogg and Dr. Dre. This information appears to be official, since it is on the official site of these artists, but as of yet, we've had nothing confirmed by Rockstar themselves.
We have three songs from our catalog appearing on the upcoming Rockstar Games release "Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas". The songs that will be playing while you jack cars, recruit gang members, and make drug deals are "Let Me Ride", "Nuthin' But A G Thang", and "Gin & Juice".
--- Death Row Records, Official Website

Update: Unfortunately, for whatever reason, the information has been removed from the Death Row Records website. This may be due to contractural reasons, with Rockstar, or even because it was a blatant lie. We'll probably only find out when the game is released and the reviews are rolling in.

Brady Games - Official GTASA Guide

    GTAGaming.com - General News | @ 02:31 PM MDT | By Zidane
Gamestop is now accepting preorders for the Official Strategy Guide for Grand Theft Auto San Andreas. The book, (published by BradyGames and written by Tim Bogenn) will retail for $15.99. The release date is slated for October 1st, yet as we all know, the game itself isn't released for a further eighteen days. It's likely that the release date of the guide will change before then.

    ScreenFun Magazine

    GTAGaming.com - General News | @ 05:21 PM MDT | By Neil
ScreenFun, a German magazine, has exposed new information about San Andreas. According to the publication, around twelve small towns (including Dillamore and Angel Pine) will be included in San Andreas. This gives us a good idea about how large the state will be.
Spieler treffen auf zwölf Kleinstädte, witzige neue Fahrzeuge, Aufgaben und Figuren.
    -- ScreenFun Magazine

German fans can pick up a copy of ScreenFun from July 21st, which includes a six-page preview of the highly anticipated title.
The site also includes two small screenshots which were featured previously in Play magazine, but they're now much clearer thanks to them not being printed:

    ScreenFun Magazine Update

    GTAGaming.com - General News | @ 02:40 AM MDT | By Zidane
Our friends at [GTAReactor] have provided new images and information about San Andreas from the German magazine we reported on yesterday, Screenfun.
    New Information
-- There are three cities and twelve small towns, such as Angel Pine and Dillamore.
-- Players will once again find themselves equipped with a camera for some missions.
    ScreenFun Magazine

Screenshots and the new map, which shows their impression of San Andreas appear below:

The trees and forests look amazingly detailed and clear for GTA conditions.

The motorhome is one of the many new vehicles. Whether you will also be able to cook therein is still uncertain.

As Carl steals the tanker, a police helicopter whirls in. With its searchlight it illuminates the way for the ground forces.

Due to the enormous size of the game, planes and helicopters are desperately needed for locomotion.
