The thing that GTAIV needs to have are more serious consequences for your actions

I am really rooting for Rockstar to go this route. With the new vibe I'm getting from the trailer, a new approach to the formula would keep the series fresh and interesting for it's first next gen outing. It'll definitely shut up the people who say every GTA is the same.

If I murder a lot, I want bounty hunters on my ass. If I push, I want random search warrants of my safehouse.

I want the gameplay to be more ended and not so black and white. Moralistic situations should pop and I should be able to choose if I want to make someone my victim or not. I guess KotOR and Oblivion have spoiled me, but I think it'd be totally rad if GTA implemented this into the next gen version.

The potential is high, and if there's anyone who could pull it off, it's R*.

I'd like to see Busted punishments, and varied ones depending on how serious the crime (aka your wanted level). A simple fine for the less serious crimes and facing jail time for the more serious crimes. You have the option to attempt to break out of jail, or you can sit and do your time and then get out a few game time days later. Oh course, you'd be given an option to sleep to kill the time so you don't have to literally wait around for literally 72 minutes (3 game time days).

Yeah, it's always bothered me (even though it was convenient in the game) that you could run red lights, speed, go off road, hit light poles, etc right in front of a cop and they wouldn't even move. I'd definately like to see a fine system or something like that, and I'd especially like for the bribe system from VCS to carry over. (Where after busted/wasted you can pay $2,000 to get your guns back)

I will have to think on it. Not sure if,they pull me over for speeding to write me a ticket, would be great fun. Thats real world, the escape you get in this made up world is what gives it that charm. You do as you please, pretty much. I mean how much real life are you looking for? If its alot, then just walk out your door at home; an run the stop sign,ha.

I think that's getting a bit too realistic there guys, and that'd take out the fun. What I mean by actions, I mean moralistic actions like whacking someone on the street.

Well, my favorite thing to do in GTA's is getting cops after me and just...running. That's a blast.

But it could get very annoying, I see what you mean. As long as there's a 'turn off wanted level' cheat, I'm all good. Don't get me wrong, that's the only cheat I ever use, but it's a necessity.

Yes! I remember in Vice when you have to bust Cam out of jail, I always thought how great it'd be to spend time in there

haha, amen. I can amuse myself for hours doing that on San Andreas, get a 3-star or so wanted level and see how long I can last without cheats.

...Oddly enough, about 70% of the time I ended up cornered down in the Hunter Quarry in the crane.

Yes ,thats it! Just messing around with cops after you,in real life certain death would be the outcome. Here in the game its just a challenge to see,how long you can last. Also, using your wits to out smart the AI.

Well you sort of could if you wanted. The cell was left open, and you could go stand behind the bars for a few minutes if you liked

Yeah but you could just walk out. I meant like locked in there and serving time.

I know what you meant, was just a joke

Yeah definitely would be cool if you could serve time, or at least had these huge legitimate prisons, you know with guard towers, barbed wire along the top of fences (that would hurt you trying to climb over), etc, stuff like that. Plus other inmates

Yes, that certainly is a good idea.

In SA, we had the Casino guys after us when we owed them money, that was good.

With motion sensing, I'm sure R* will implement a new gameplay strategy.
