Yes, for some games. Skyrim and BF3 come to mind. Causes texture pop-in and stuttering in games that use high res textures, especially with AA.

Never had any issues with Skyrim but I have BF3 on High instead of ultra indeed, because of the occassional stuttering. Maybe that's why my Far Cry 3 was stuttering (heavy) aswell with MSAA turned on. But buying a new graphics card is really out of the question xD, to expensive and a waste of my current one.

Ja, for me Skyrim did it when I had the high res textures installed or if I used 4x MSAA. Usually stuttered in some outdoor areas with those settings since it was using more than 1 gb of video memory.

the motherboard/CPU/video card are good, but the ram you chose is only a single 8GB module you need to get a 2 x 4GB kit for dual channel to work.

depends on the game/resolution level you play at, I ran into several games that use more then 1GB at 1920x1080 even without texture pack mods.

MSAA was stuttery for me too in Far Cry 3, I leave that off and just use FXAA only cause it still has the appearance of AA without the performance loss.

Other then that I got pretty much everything else at max detail, and I stay between 30 - 60fps.

Piggus look at this simple tweak for far Cry 3, it will clear up the distance blur and jagged edges on trees, looks so much better

made a hell of a difference visually for me.

Just for gaming, the advantage of dual channel is negligible at 1600 Mhz in my experience. It is wise to go for dual channel to leave wiggle room for applications that are more sensitive to it, but with that mindset you might as well go for 2x 8GB right away (which is what I would have recommended had he asked for suggestions rather than just whether his own choices were compatible or not). For future proofing, it's just a waste of RAM slots otherwise.

Ah, I actually thought I selected the option for 2x4GB!

But for that price I might as well get two of the 8GB sticks. I'm already hoying about 600 at a computer store, may as well throw in an extra 35.

Also think I'll be using that fix, I'm not a fan of the blurred backgrounds because I feel that my eyes naturally blue things out of focus anyway. Sure, it simulates depth but the differences are really negligible between eyes and a PC doing it, so for the extra crispness I'd rather go without it.

Don't worry - if you were playing on a console you wouldn't even have seen it.

Far Cry 3 + FXAA Injector Mod, posted a bunch of screens here

http://www.evga.com/forums/fb.ashx?m=1814925

its basicly the same thing that was used on Skyrim, BF3, etc.

makes the game much clearer, richer in color, and sharper.
