Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas

Chances are you've played it. there is no argument that it is an amazing game. but what makes it such a good game?

I think it is the freedom. No other game offers such freedom as san Andreas does, not even final fantasy :p

For example, if playing a game such as FFX-2 you have freedom to go where you want. however you do not have the freedom to DO what you want. endless times i have wanted to kill Rikku but couldn't. if it was san Andreas not only could i kill her but i could choose the way to suit her. Shooting her, Drowning her, pushing her off a building, beating her, burning her, blowing her up, running here over or best of all, hitting here with a RPG.

San Andreas isn't just about the violence. There are plenty of things to do without killing people. Taxi driving for instants. Play the good guy in vigilante, save peoples lives with paramedic and fire fighter. One of my favourite things to do is just go for a drive to see the sites.

"The game is like no other" would be the wrong thing to say. What makes it so good is that it takes the best part of every other game around. There is intense driving like burnout 3 (not quite to the standard but still brilliant.) Shoot 'em up aspect plays a vital part as well. With the huge selection of weapons. There are weapons ranging from 9mm pistols to heat seeking missiles. The selection of car are great too. With racing games you tend to unlock the car and then use it again anytime you like. With San Andreas there is the aspect of seeing a rear car and taking it. the feeling of joy when you first jack a bullet is amazing.

The setting is amazing. getting lost is easy to do but familiarizing with the state is easier then it sounds. However getting to know you way round is just grate there is a surprise round every corner.

All that is to do with just the area and things to do.

The missions are challenging and fun. There is a hint of comedy in every one, whether its chasing OJ loc with a hovercraft then a go cart or fighting your way out a building with the mafia shooting at you. it a laugh a minuet.

The story line is well written with grate character voices and there are enough twists and turns to make your head spin.

Graphics in san Andreas are, at times glitchy, but they are easily overlooked. The detail however is stunning. If you just think about every little thing such as shop names, signs, number plates, interiors. They are all mastered perfectly.

The sounds of the game are easily one of the best factors. There is a radio station for everyone. Whether you’re in to rock, rap country or house its all there. The talk radio stations are also a grate alternative. As for the sound of the streets they are planned out so well and interact with the player so much.

Anyone who says san Andreas is only about crime and violence is wrong. They obviously haven’t played the game properly.

Graphics 8/10 not as good as other games out there but the detail is amazing
Sound 10/10 Something for everyone
Game Play 10/10 Unbeatable
Lifespan 10/10 100hours and still loving it.

Graphics 8/10
Sound 8/10 - rock station sucks
Game Play 10/10
Lifespan 4/10 - it gets very boring at the end, story isnt the best, and did i say it gets boring?

It's about time somebody reviewed SA on a GTA forum. :p

I give it a 10/10 also. The minor flaws are all outweighed by it's overall level of fun and size.

10/10? No way. Id give it a 8.9/10.

It's a great game. But you gotta admit is more of the same. Graphics arent the reason I gave this game a score of 8.9, but its mostly the gameplay, boring missions, bad story thats reason I wouldnt give this game a 9+.

There are alot of good things to say about this game too. That is probably everything except for the bad things I mentioned.
