Valve really needs better management. Their company structure is like communism and it just doesn't work in the games industry. They can still make awesome games while not having all kinds of internal problems.

You haven't read their employee handbook that came out the other day? Their structure is entirely intentional and it's that way to promote super high quality work. They know without a hierarchy things won't flow as smoothly, but the end products that they release is evidence enough that their system works..

I disagree.

Whatever they're doing works, I would rather HL3 be delayed than have a piece of shit game.

I also doubt HL3 will ever actually come out, and if it does it'll probably end up like Duke Nukem Forever; long awaited and over hyped.

They can work however they like cause they make bucket loads off Steam.
To have the kind of creative freedom is awesome.

Sorry guys

EA buys development and ownership rights of Half Life 3 from Valve

It would probably be better off.

Not that I know of, Valve is always so secret about releasing any info like that early on.

the ending of Half-Life 2 episode 2 is really all we have to go on to get an idea on what Half-Life 3 or Episode 3 will have. I hope to get revenge on that thing that killed Alyx's Father.

You disagree that there an issue with their structure but you think HL3 won't come out? It's their biggest franchise by far. :p There has to be a way for Valve to retain the quality of their games while also retaining focus.

Good Lord I've been waiting on Episode 3 for what seems like 10 years and you guys are talking about HL3??? I'm starting to think it's never going to happen.

More then likely it won't, Valve would be better off to do a an entire full game on a further updated source engine (maybe with DX10 or DX11 this time)

If they did a episode 3 it would have been done at least 3 or 4 years ago.

Episode 1 released June 1st 2006 and Episode 2 released Oct 10 2007, so episode 3 should have been out somewhere in 2008 - 2009
