According to reports on Nyleveia.com, Eurogamer, and NeoGAF, Sony's PlayStation Network password reset system-the one just put in place after the PSN hack-has been compromised, allowing hackers to change a PSN password if they know your email and date of birth. Exactly the sort of information that was released in the original hack.

Sony has taken the password reset system offline. Kotaku has reached out to Sony for comment.

Yeah, read on PSX-Scene (PS3 Hackers playground) that a load of them wanted to attack Sony for their "pathetic" offer of games and PSN+ from the Welcome Back Pack, and that Sony are trying to "con" us and only they can see it. They said in protest people should hack their PS3 and download the games instead to show Sony who's boss, this attack was to make sure people knew that Sony won't ever win and that the hackers will continue to fuck with Sony until, ...., well they didn't actually mention an overall goal.

because.... wait what did Sony actually do again? only response I've seen is "they're big and greedy!!!"

over-privileged white people who think that capitalism is the bane of existence and globalization is horrible... while buying expensive jeans and talking on cell phones.

if you want to watch the world burn and fuck shit up. then admit it.

Don't try and throw up false walls of principals and ideology.

Sonys greedy? They're a major business for electric appliances and developer for a game console, yet unlike microsoft they dont charge yearly internet rates to play online. They sell games on playstation store, they develop games and applications to entertain us. How is that greedy? They have to get money but its not like they're trying to squeeze every cent out of us. Most of the content to buy isnt even theirs lol

These hackers are just trying to make names of themselves and are fucking themselves in the ass in the process.

Early reports suggest that Sony's request for PlayStation Network users to reset their passwords could have inadvertently exposed the network to a new set of attacks.

The exploit allows hackers to change user passwords via the PSN password reset page, using just two pieces of information – a PSN account email address and a date of birth – both of which could have been obtained in the original breach.

The exploit was initially reported by Nyleveia, but the story has since been confirmed by Eurogamer, who claim to have seen video evidence corroborating Nyleveia's claims.

As a consequence, the PSN sign-in is currently down on a number of Sony's sites.

What a bunch of fucking babies. The PS3 hacking scene is by far the most pathetic I've ever seen.

So they are basically trying to hack the shit outta sony until sony stops making a product for which they all enjoy in some way (at least I assume that's why they bought one)
