I thought maybe some of you would be interested in the same thing, so please share anything from your culture or country of origin! If it's another language other than English maybe try to provide a little explanation.I'll start us with some tunes: Aram Asatryan - Hay es du (Armenian music and lyrics) http://xjar2.narod.ru/arm_music/ARAM..._hay_es_du.mp3 Possibly the most well-known Armenian songs out there - the singer who died fairly recently is a pop legend and this song embodies the whole Armenian pop music style REALLY well. Everybody nowadays mimics this guy. Tata Simonyan - Yerevani axchiknerin (Armenian music and lyrics) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h_oUZUlbETA Basically a song praising the girls of Yerevan, which is the capital of Armenia. The two major themes of Armenian pop music are women and the capital city. This one combines them both for another one of the biggest pop songs. Arsen Petrosov - Kayfuem (Armenian music, Russian lyrics) http://xjar2.narod.ru/arm_music/Arse...ov_Kayfuem.mp3 This song is just about chilling out with a woman and "getting high on love" ![]() (The first and third links will take you to a Russian page, just click the link that looks the same on that page in bold blue) |

I know these are English lyrics, but I honestly don't know any good Belgian band that sings in Dutch. edit: I can't believe I forgot this De Kreuners - Ik Wil Je It's not a high quality song music wise, but goddamn how many times we have sung this song in a pub Last edited by Ritchie : 4 Weeks Ago at 03:11 PM. |

It may be electronica, but it's not like any other. It's somewhat of an orchestra approach to electronica. They're coming out with a new album next week (which I've got) and it's simply great. I finally got a chance to drop in and listen to the whole thing through on the iPod and there is a lot of things going on in their music that you might not notice if you don't give them enough of a chance. www.twistedmusic.com http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nRIDCMZySHw Shanghai Restoration Project I don't know where their from or what their story is, but they mix oriental strings and hip hop beats into some interesting tunes. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8tU8azvaTNw Last edited by baleent : 3 Weeks Ago at 01:28 PM. |

Here would probably have to be the most well known aussie hip hop song: |

| I was first. When I first heard it I couldn't believe what I heard. By the way, I'm from Croatia, so I guess it is music from my culture in some way. |

I haven't listened to all the songs on their myspace yet, but they sound awesome. It's like the perfect in-between of depressive black metal and the thrashy black metal. |

Los Capitanes (Myspace) - A heavy ska sound... Fairly bril. __________________ ![]() |
