Changes to the original gameplay from IV?

I'm just wondering what changes you guys have noticed since the Lost & The Damned update, for example:

The annihilator now shoots explosives rather than bullets.
The Prison now has a siren that sounds if you manage to get in.
Nikos first safe house cannot be entered.

Just curious what other changes you've noticed, I'm quite keen to check them out.

I played the lost and danmed on one of my freinds 360 and I never got to use a helicopter in it. I've always wanted to shoot rockets from the annhilator. Better than those useless machine guns that never hit anything.

They're not rockets, they're more like explosive bullets.

You can blow up any vehicle with them but you don't have to aim at the spot it should arrive at like you do with rockets.

I think the gravity that the player feels has changed aswell, because whenever you do a jump while standing you hit the ground alot faster than you did in the original

  • You can't enter Niko's first house because it burnt down...
  • Johnny is a much bigger build than Niko, so of course he falls harder

Don't know if it was there before but I've noticed several news flashes on the radio about The Lost... I don't remember hearing them the first time I played through the main story. Props to R* if they were there though.

Yep, those news flashes were in the main game already, just you notice them more now along with Niko's news.

At the very start of the expansion it isn't burnt down.

but why would u be able to go into another man's house?
niko couldn't enter the lost's clubhouse why should johnny be able to go into niko and roman's apartment?

After the first mission, I left the storyline for some exploration.
Jumped in a helicopter, started finding all my old weapons, armor,
and health spawn points. All the external ones are still there.

Which leads to another interesting point, I kind of like
how Johhny's story runs parallel to Niko's.

Have already seen Niko and others from GTA:IV in the game,
and some of those missions they shared were pretty heavy duty.

Won't mention any, but will say that one interior where I used
to get M4 spawns is now closed, or at least at my level of 18% completion,
is closed.....the building may be available later depending on if
Johnny particpates in a mission that Niko had there.

Unlike some friends I have, I actually like the grainy film effect,
and of course the extra death metal songs on LCHC.

Noticed *very* early on that Johnny is heavier than Niko,
and really grunts more climbing rocks, jumping fences, etc.

Riding in tandem with the group is kind of cool, with the Lost Icon.

The Lost club house is thankfully near the park where Derrick's
missions were, cop cars and armor spawn is very close to there.

Also the Lost club house has a "Warriors" feel to it that I am trying
to not feel, as I hated the Warriors but LOVE all the GTA games.

LOVE the hi-lo card games, and still love playing pool.
The arm wrestling appears to be hard on the controller
but I've manages to win every time any ways.
L0L - I absolutely SUCK at air hockey, I couldn't beat a grandma....yet.

Lots of new things to notice guys - even though many are very subtle....

In Algonquin, there was this pothole in the original GTA IV underneath a overpass near the islands safehouse. In The Lost and Damned its filled in for some reason and a construction worker spawns on top of it with a shovel in the ground, leaning on it like hes resting. Thought that was a really cool little update for them to include. Stuff like that is one of the reasons I download these DLCs.
