It seems to me that the majority here thinks the next GTA should be based present time. And i couldn't agree more, i'd love to see VC and San Andreas in the modern day, there's so much potential.

It should be 1971 in LC connected with VC and SA. What did everybody forget about "The Harwood Butcher"? It would be cool to see that masacre. And when I mean connected, I mean that u can fly to VC, SA or LC.

one of the main reasons i loved driver 2 was the fact u got 4 cities and 4 different layouts with 4 different kinda of cars music and whatnot. wish they could do somehting like that nowadays...(altho the time period thing in driver 4 was kinda neat i must say)

Definately a different time zone would be best if you ask me... It went 2000's, 80's, 90's in the III era, and it worked in terms of aesthetics and cars, I think it helps to freshen the game up if the timezones alternate.

A revamped San Andreas in about 2002. I would maybe want that to wait for the eight generation of consoles though, so they could have three full size cities on the scale of LC in GTA IV.
