Angry GTA IV WS10 error! Help! can't start game!

So lately, after patching to the 2nd patch, I get this Error, it says:

GTA IV WS10 ERROR
Xnet Startup Failed: Please Re-boot your system and/or re-install the game

or something like that..
I've tried rebooting my system LOTS of times,
I want to re-install but I'm afraid I might lose my save file, I don't know how to copy my save file.

I've updated my NVIDIA to the latest version, but still nothing works..

So I'm gonna try to re-install, BUT please tell me how to copy my save file...
and.. do you think I should at least patch to the FIRST patch? so atleast I can still use scripts and mods and trainers?

please reply ASAP you guys! thanks if you helped me out!

It depends what OS you are playing the game on.

on windows Vista the save file location is here:

C:\Users\" windows logon name "\AppData\Local\Rockstar Games\GTA IV

on windows XP the save file location is here:

C:\Documents and Settings\" windows logon name "\Local Settings\Application Data\Rockstar Games\GTA IV

I'm on XP, and yes, I already know where to find the save file..
but how do you copy and paste it into the re-installed GTA IV? I'm sure you can't just load it like that...

You can actually. After you reinstall, just put your old saves in the same folder as you found them before. Should work just fine.

Try running RGSCLauncher.exe in the Rockstar Games Social Club folder in the Grand Theft Auto IV directory. It fixed all my problems trying to start it up.
