how to remove modded car paintjobs
requesting a little help with making a modded car use GTA IV colours and not the paint job supplied with the mod or both will spawn with or without paintjob on the car
I drive a Ford Escort Mk2 but it has a paintjob on the car and i think it would look more authentic to be able cruise around in a solid color rather than a rally art paintjob. link below is the car.
If someone could paste easy to understand instructions on how to make this happen it would be much appreciated.

open vehicles.ide file located in GTA4\Common\Data
search for car name that you have replaced with mod Ford Escort Mk2
go to end of line and remove "+livaries"
use sparkIV or openIV
open cars .wtd file
find the paint job .dds
replace it with plane white texture

as extrememodder said, you can delete livery from car's vehicle.ide code.
but the second way, you should replace paintjob file in wtd file with a blank transparent texture, if you use white, car color will be only white and you can't change it ingame.
you live in present, future is mine...

Most people get rid of paint using an automated paint remover. This can involve either high power chemical spray, or a sander which simply scuffs the paint off. Either of these choices may not be suitable for someone with a classic car. I have armored toyota hilux, I always follow this. Second way is Chemical paint removers can be used to strip the paint off of your machine, and in fact they can be very useful if you want to take off the paint without damaging the car. Using manual methods involves the most work, particularly for the person doing the removing. The most common, and slightly easier, method is to use sandpaper.
