The negativity about this thing is just confusing. What did people want from it?

Microsoft already has a UI that works on the existing console and is consistent with Windows Phone 8 and Windows 8. No need to change it. In fact they improved it by adding snap (great feature on Windows 8) and by letting us know that Windows 8 applications will run on the machine. That means no long waits for apps! Whereas on PS4 the applications have to be specifically developed for PS4 and it will be as poor a selection as there currently is (no Sky Go for example).

People moaned at Sony because they didn't show the console. Microsoft did and that was the whole point of the conference.

The majority of games will be multiformat anyway and a lot of the games at Sony's conference will be on Xbox One as well (The Witness, Watch Dogs, Destiny etc)
