I actually died less on Old School after playing it on Medium/Hard, the result from memorizing enemy patterns, spawn points, getting used to controls, etc...
This was the first Max Payne I ever played on console. I personally didn't think the controls were *too* bad. Took quite a bit of getting used to, but once I did, I could pull off really good shots, given the narrow time frame you get to make them.
Then again, if you've been waiting around 8 years (such as myself) or so for this game along with half of the fans of MP, of course, it would be quite hard to meet all the expectation you had built up over time. It was pretty much what I expected, sure, things could have probably been better, but, when can things ever not be better than what was finally given?
I'm not anywhere near as good with a controller as I am with a keyboard or mouse, but it is manageable for me. This game, imo, would be too easy with a keyboard and mouse, at least for me. A mouse involves more than just a little thumb, a mouse would make this game a fucking breeze compared to a dinky thumbstick on a controller.
I still debate with myself whether to actually get the PC version or not. I feel I haven't really played MP3 until I have played it on PC. That for me, is MP's home.
