Factors such as realism and visual eye-candy would add to the gameplay if it were accompanied by a slew of activities and events to partake in. While the visual grandeur of Liberty City in GTA IV is quite impressive, it is still flawed by a feeling of emptiness within the world. Nonetheless, it doesn't help the inconvenient and controversial fact that the game, at its core, is inferior gameplay wise to its predecessors and other recent sandbox genre titles.
