The Mutiiple City Theory

Alright, first I'm basing this off the end of the trailer. The main character's speech, it sounds like he's Russian. The way he says "Perhaps here, things will be different.", makes it sound like he's talking about the country in general, as compared to Russia, or his home country.

My theory is, I really doubt for one Rockstar would stick to ONE city, and get rid of the countryside despite how popular it was. I could be wrong, but I don't even think NYC or Manhattan has a lot of country side. What I am expecting Rockstar to do, is release a few more trailers. This first one kinda showed off Liberty City, in all it's revamped and beautiful glory. What if the next trailer shows off a completely different city?

Another hint towards this theory is the posters that say FlyUSA, which kinda hints that there is an airport, and possibly another way to get between cities.

Discuss, add, or debate against the theory, but don't hold me to it.

There is also a sign that says "Visit Vice City $300" in the first part of the trailer, this could probably be a hint towards traveling to other cities, but this is only a theory too. It would be cool to see a revamped Vice City in IV as well.

It would be good, but didn't all the games have some sort of sign like that?

If it does have Vice, it will also have San Andreas.

I'm sticking to this theory. I'm actually hoping we'll see Vice City and San Andreas in GTA IV, recreated like LC, and that dream of being able to fly from city to city :)

^Agreed, that would be amazing imo

I think you'll get to go to a modernized Vice City, but only a small chunk of it and only for one or two missions. Then the next GTA will have the new VC as its base city.

And you know this how? Keep in mind R* have to fit this on a DVD disc. San Andreas took up the best part of 4gb.

Completely recreated LC, VC, and SA would be fantastic beyond words, but like Lynk said, I don't think that's a realistic possibility. Unfortunately. :(

BJ: It will most likely be put on a dual layer DVD9, but even that is only 7.5GB.

360 version btw.

Thundercracker 03-29-2007 09:43 PM

If they include more than Liberty City, they can easily allow for disc swapping if you fly between the two.

Thundercracker 03-29-2007 09:45 PM

The game is going to come on a disc. The only function the hard disk might supply is a paging file, unless the game, upon initial insertion into a console, will decompress a large chunk of files for use.

Not every 360 owner has a hard drive and even so I'd doubt they'd make people waste HD space for it. This is not a worry for the PS3 as it has a massive 60gb Blu Ray disc.

LordLeverette 03-29-2007 09:51 PM

Hmm... think driver 2 and...

CD 2 LAS VEGAS, *other city lol*

I think either two disks as things being different, or, well, R* will surprise us with something...

Lynk 03-29-2007 09:55 PM

PS3 uses Blu-Ray discs instead of DVD's.DVD's can store 8 gb, while Blu Ray can store 60gb.

Edit: No 360 cannot use Blu-Ray.
