Any of you European bros going to Gamescom this year? Should be a pretty good show being that PS4 and Xbone will both be playable.
As usual, stuff is starting to leak before the show. NeoGaf's "crazy buttocks on a train" (apparently a MS employee who accurately leaks tons of info) revealed some good (and not so good) stuff.
- PS4 is coming out in October
- Xbone is delayed to 2014 in several markets in Europe (this is official) but the official reasoning given by MS (localization issues) is total BS. It has to do with poor APU yields and a lack of supply.
- Platinum Games is working on an Xbone exclusive game
- Microsoft won't have a press conference tomorrow and again their reasons are PR bullshit. The latest SDK dropped performance by 15-20% (this is normal in console development and will be fixed) but they don't want to show off poorly performing games.
- PS4 SDK is complete and the system is almost ready to ship.
- Microsoft's indie publishing policy isn't set and will be decided after launch
- Possibility of a lower priced Kinect-less Xbone SKU next year
- Big Park was working on a MOBA but MS is having them do TV shit instead
- RARE is still only focused on Kinect games. Thanks MS!
Other stuff that is known or rumored...
Sony will have a press conference tomorrow at 9 am which will officially reveal the PS4 launch date. MS won't have one, as mentioned.
Microsoft is paying EA a dickload of money to package FIFA 14 with every launch Xbone sold in Europe this year. (still more expensive than buying a PS4 + FIFA... lol)
A new Super Stardust game will apparently be at the Sony conference.
No new The Order 1886 info according to SSM.
War Thunder coming to PS4 with cross-platform multiplayer with PC players.
Updates on PS Vita at the Sony conference. Apparently a big AAA title coming to Vita.
*watching EA's stream*
...I am sooo bored.
Lol didn't know they even had one.
Man, Microsoft lost this war hard
I don't know, the FIFA thing, many people in EU are already switching to Xbone because of that alone! FIFA is a massive thing here, super massive, it's like those American sports games, Sony's got to do something fucking majestic to win back europe after that.
Do they know how to do math? PS4 + Fifa is cheaper than an Xbone still. -_- Don't know why people would pay more for the inferior version of the game.
Also preorders in Europe are 8:1 in favor of PS4. I don't think Sony has much to be concerned about especially since MS is having major supply problems.
Yeah but, it seems like everything they want to try keeps crashing down around them. I have no doubt Xbone will still a very popular console, but I doubt they have a shot at taking 1. Market position anymore
yeah Piggus, but exclusive FIFA content, this is like bigger than COD in Europe! Why buy crappy PS4 version when you can buy superior Xbone version with over 40 extra Legendary players included.

Awe, no October launch. Oh well. >_< Still a good show. I was surprised at how many games were announced.
That was actually terrible, Andrew House and Mark Cerny were the only good parts, WAY too much focus on indie and old titles, did we really need to waste time talking about Binding of Issac, Hotline Miami and bloody Minecraft (Where Mojang has already announced his next game exclusive to Xbone along with Minecraft).
Indie is a pretty big deal though. :p That was one of Microsoft's biggest advantages and they've totally stripped it away from them.
Also that jab at Microsoft was amazing.
Yes but, they basically treaded over the same news, it was done much better at E3, straight to the point, YOU LIKE INDIE, WE HAVE INDIE, PS4 bitches. Here it was just dragged out, we saw LESS than we did at E3, instead just a load of indie games and some Gran Turismo 6, AC4, Infamous SS, Watch_Dogs and a few teasers of new games, but nothing really solid to bring excitement, right now Microsoft has won it in Europe, and I'm guessing the US to.
coolest thing was the 6 seconds of N++
Lol. Microsoft hasn't won shit. Preorders in the US are 4:1 in favor of PS4. In Europe it's 8:1. Believe it or not, price makes a pretty big difference and like I said they're having major supply problems. PS4 is launching in TWICE as many regions. You're greatly overestimating the FIFA thing. Once people get over their initial "omg megaton!" reaction and start to use their brain to do basic math they'll realize that a PS4 + Fifa is still a better value.
Also the FIFA deal is only for preorders as MS has essentially stopped taking preorders in most places since they don't have the supply.
