ASI loader doesn't work, brings up EFC20
Hey guys. Reinstalled GTA IV and downloaded the ASI loader, bodyguard mod by rappo and the player selector mod.
Anyways i copied all the files to GTA 4 directory folder and hit up the game.
Then I got a pop up from vista, that the app had encountered a problem and needs to close  , so I thought what the hell, I've always had probs with mods so I will delete them.
After I had deleted all the mod files + the asi loader (dsound.dll or something like it) the game gave me the EFC20 error:facepalm: , so again I copied the asi loader file to the directory and downloaded the EFC20 error fix.
Then the game again gave me the poooop up, that it had encountered a prob blah blah blah...

Could it be the ASI loader, or what?

Could someone of you please help me with it, if you can?

maybe you can elaborate some more on what "pooooop up" means

pop up

reinstall the game, probably helps

Yup. That's what I though, I just hoped there's an easier way :P :D
EDIT: or less time consuming

i'd say reinstall, sounds like you messed up your files. its difficult to help someone in a situation like this because the mods and ASI loader obviously work - either you installed it incorrectly (which is pretty hard to do :P) or there is something wrong with your game. the ASI loader and mods dont change ANY of the pre-existing GTA IV files, so there is no reason why it would affect your game at all when you delete them.

I have dropped the asi dsound.dll & bodyguard & car bomb file into where I assume is the correct place but it doesnt seem to do anything. I have it where I dropped the patch files into...

Both files have to be copied to where your GTA 4 is presumably program files/rockstar games/gtaIV
Secondly, make sure, that the car bomb mod doesn't need activating. Check the read me, that maybe you have to press some button ingame...

I'm having trouble with the ASI loader too. I downloaded it and installed the required files into the root GTA4 directory (program files/Rockstar Games/GTAIV) and also added the God Mode mod and dropped the required files into the same directory, as directed. Got an EFC error. Downloaded the EFC error fix. Continued getting EFC error. Removed everything, game works fine. Double-checked everything, re-read all the instructions, did everything over again, got EFC error again. What am I doing wrong? (Currently have and everything I put in says it's compatible with and below. Game is a fresh install, running on Windows 7)
