Weapon Update

hey guys!
first post of the forum, moved from another forum because its just getting lame (too much bitching)
sorry if this has been posted before, but i was just reading the french Jeux Video review though and noticed something it said
"les délires comme le katana ou la tronçonneuse semblent avoir disparu"
roughly "the delights of the katana and the chainsaw seem to have dissapeared"

so.. no chainsaw and no katana! but we will still have knives? all in an effort by R* to make LC realistic i suppose :)

sorry again if this has already been posted

Funny. The last scene of the first trailer showed a chiansaw on the docked ship.

i thought everyone agreed it wasn't a chainsaw?

It seems like Rockstar have rid themselves of any unrealistic weapons in attempt to achieve realism. The flamethrower isn't there anymore either, I presume.

I will miss the chainsaw and KATANA... but if they put that sledgehammer in there that will more than make up for it :D

News to me.

you would have to argue though that a RPG isnt very realistic either.....i mean how many would you see in NY? and if u DO see them in NY, im sure there are a lot more chainsaws! i suppose they just couldnt bring it upon themselves to get rid of it (especially knowing how much people like the RPG)

...i know this is picky, but katanas aren't ninja swords, they are samurai swords. Ninja swords are ninjatō.

Yeah, I'm hoping that picture is showing us that weapon.

lillb 04-22-2008 10:54 PM

yea the sledgehammer could be cool

Jakenz 04-22-2008 10:56 PM

the sledgehammer may just be a NPC prop, or a prop u can take :P

katanas wouldn't be hard to get anywhere, i know i could easily get one in town now if i wanted.

Let's be honest, the Katana was garbage. Sure it was cool to pretend to be B****** trying to Kill Bill, but the controls were awful. It wasn't swordplay, it was simply swinging the generic melee object with a nice sound effect.

However if it was reworked then that'd be okay. ;)

A chainsaw could be very useful though, as a proper tool rather than as a weapon. It can be used to cut through barriers like boxes and fences...

i dont think a normal chain saw would cut through a fence....not enofe to walk through anyway

wooden fences, and definitely could cut through chain-link. But if the saw isnt in the game, I hope they have something of equal power and uses.
