Well I am very sure we all have our own reasons why Grand Theft Auto is important to us but here is an article from PS3Blog.net explaining why it is great. :P

How come they miss to talk about the soundtrack/voice acting? :/ It's been a solid factor for every 3D GTAs.

im not sure its a real salespoint...
you never hear your local gamestop clerk go "er, and the voice acting is supreme, you should buy it!"
Which isn't the point.
That might not sell the game but it would give you a gut-wrenching felling once you were playing the game. That leads to lower ratings, lower ratings tip people off something isn't quite right about the game and that will pretty much spread around.
It might not be a key factor, but it's one of those things that will impact the felling and vibe of gameplay alot, especially in a game like GTA IV will be.

The whole point is about what the players are experiencing, and the soundtrack plays significant part (along with the other major components) - well, in my case at least.

im just saying, for the average user thats not what this game is about! i dont play gta for the voice acting, i do it for the missions and the storyline, which in term is the missions! :)

I also play it for the gameplay, but if it has crappy Voice acting then it will definately want me to moan about it.

I liked the fact that Peter Fonda, Samuel L. Jackson and James Woods were included in GTA SA and because of that I'm sure Rockstar sold a few extra copies.

Nice point there Asif:)overall I liked their take on GTA goodness.

Also the writing is great. I don't know how many times I've blatently failed mission just to hear Mike Toreno rant again.
