Sandbox Multiplayer?

In my eyes this is one of the biggest way R* could screw up GTA4. If they do not decide to include sandbox multiplayer in favor of a more strategic and indept multiplayer I going to be pissed.

What would be more fun then having rampages, exploring, and killing with multiple people.

Don't you think that if they go with a basic deathmatch it may only be like anyother game.

This is an interesting proposition. Personally I think a sandbox multilayer would be a good idea; think San Andreas but with no distance limit and each player has their own screen. I do not see a real reason why Rockstar would not include this as part of the game.

That's what I was worried about but they have said it will be more than just this. The potential for different modes is quite large with a game as open as this, hopefully they'll make the most of that.

Actually I must agree with that.
Personally, I don't really care what the multiplayer experience turns out to be. I'm not expecting it to be overwhelming though.

It would be great to go into two teams of four and get in a car chase around liberty city, kinda like in the second matrix movie with the Escalade and the CTSV. The sound of sub machine gun fire and bullets peircing the metal on the side of the car, I can imagine it now, The driver does some swift move and sends the other car flying up a ramp and into a brick wall where they meet their death because of the new feature where you crash through the window. I want to get a sawn-off shotgun and shot the tires sending them into a slide and they crash through a guard rail and they fall on top of a gas station and then you call them flying mince over the mic.

They could atleast have co-op. Like crackdown.. that was awesome free roaming around, racing, killing (eachother etc.) Now splitscreen...

Sandbox would be great. I wonder if by the next gen they'd be able to do sandbox but with a ton of people all in one city at a time.

I'd love a fully customisable sandbox mode, where you could adjust stuff like:

traffic density
cops on/off
peds on/off
day/night

maybe even be able to spawn stuff like vehicles/weapons. Also a stage editor where you could add ramps and race checkpoints (like MTA) would own.

Maybe i'm asking a bit much lol :/

Surely list of pedestrians. Everyone as niko would get annoying very fast.

I actually don't think I'd like GTA to be multiplayer.

I would get annoyed by the people who'd blow up everything and drive like fucking morons and stuff.

The thought of playing a beautiful game like GTA IV but seeing the place filled with morons jumping and running around is definetly not attractive to me.


Though, I'd like it to have like an ability to play with some friends, on different tv's and ps3's ofcourse, but still have the peds around. Like, you would occassionally stumble uppon one of your friends and engage in a gunfight with him, or team up with him and go on a rampage. Just...not a whole city completely filled with moronic noobies. God no.


edit: Cos it's just that...everyone plays GTA in his own way. I like to drive kinda neat and stuff. Keep it clean and such.
