There is some rumors going around saying that there is a new xbox 360 in the pipeline it might be called the xbox 360 ultimate. The new model will have a built in HD DVD drive with the HDMI connectivity, built-in Wi-Fi, hi-def audio output, cooler 65nm hardware architecture and a near silent fan. It will also have a staggering 320gb hard disk. The only question is when, and I will answer that question, it is to be put on shelves in autumn 2008. This may have some cost issues, my estimate is £500 - £650. There is a choice of two colours, elite black ( same colour as the elite) and shocking silver (kinda shiny grey). I will be buying the xbox 360 ultimate when it is released and I will keep my PS3 and my wii, and then I will own all consoles and I will finaly have the right to say what is the best. There is a pic of the so called xbox 360 ultimate in the jul - dec edition of STUFF magazine but I can't find it on the website. Keep looking out for the xbox 360 ultimate news, This is still a rumor but this has a 60% probality rating.

Source?

I honestly don't think they'll be making this. Didn't MS say built in HDDVD drives will 'split the consumers'?

What about Sony adding dual-layer DVD support to the PS2? HUH?!?!!?!

I think the HD-DVD drive they speak of is most likely just a built-in version of that external HD-DVD drive you can buy. I don't think there'll ever be games on HD-DVD for X360.

I doubt it.

If they do include a HD-DVD drive, then they can't use it for games, but it would be ok for films, just like having the external drive, but it's already built in.

If you haven't caught on, 360 Ultimate would be like Vista Ultimate.

Assuming it's true.

Never, ever trust a publication with a half naked woman on the cover.

Remember that I did say that this was just a rumour not fact but maybe it might just get transformed into fact in 2008.

Wow damn, that would HAVE to sell for at least $600, but man what a bargain it would be. My 360 sounds like a jet engine when compared to my PS3. And that space (320GB), incredible.

but the built in HDDVD drive, I like it and all...But this would tell us one thing, games would surely be put on those discs. MS can deny it all they want, but at the end of the day, games get bigger. Cartridges, CDs, DVDs, DL-DVDs, and now Blu Ray. HDDVD will be next, because movies really aren't as big as games are in file size, and the DVD is dying. Movies will last on DVD, but games won't. That joke about MGS4 taking 10 discs for a 360 version...It's probably true.

Yes I done that with mine too except mine is 500gb, sony want you to do this because I think sony gave you a little booklet on how to take your old hard drive out and put the new one in,. Its easy. 5 minutes it took me, 5 minutes and I had 500gb ps3 that worked perfectly. I will still buy this 360 becuase of the HD DVD built in.
