Now if only Polyphony Digital realised that you can't improve a game by simply adding more and more and more and more and more and more and more car models. Maybe time to bring the gameplay into 2008, huh?

Saw this yesterday and though it was pretty cool. There's one for Japan and one for Germany as well. :D

Have you played GT5P? Or better yet, do you know what's going to be in GT5? :P

I played Gran Turismo HD and it was as boring as all the others seem now. Forza Motorsport is much more fun to play but even that's outdone by the fabulous PGR4. Yes, that's not a simulation racer but ultimately it's a game and games should be fun to play. Gran Turismo is not fun to play any more.

GTHD is nothing like GT5P, and GT5P has maybe 1/5 of the features that will be in GT5. You basically played a demo of a demo, and that's it.

Matters what you're in the mood for.

Burnout is an arcade style game whereas FM (and GT) is more simulation based. I don't know about PGR. It just depends what you prefer, realism & simulation vs arcade action.

Yeah, I guess, But I never really got into FM or PGR, I prefer games like Motorstorm & Burnout, And ou of all the GT's I only ever put a lot into the second one, I'm just looking forward to this because Sony are going to support it with awesome DLC and stuff.

Apparently that doesn't matter though since they're all games.

Actually, I say he just played a HD demo of GT4 :p

I find it funny that after all these years, the cars in GT5P feel like the cars in GT1. They're still using the same handling physics system from the old Playstation days. But the game itself looks really pretty!

You know I'm just going to say this now. Gran Turismo as series and a game just fucking owns Forza on every aspect except handling realisticness (if that's a word :\).

When it comes to tracks, GT wins (outnumbers Forza's tracks like 100 to 15).
When it comes to graphics and car models, GT wins.
When it comes to lighting, GT wins.
When it comes to car selection, GT wins.
When it comes to music, GT wins.
When it comes to bang for the buck, GT wins.
When it comes to race/event choices, GT wins (rallying, drifting, other challenges)

BUT...
When it comes to car's physics calculations, handling, and sound, Forza wins.
for someone like me, that's nearly enough for me to love Forza more than GT.
GT5 will be a brilliant game indeed, I'm so very looking forward to it and will buy the Prologue demo when it arrives.
But as long as they're still using what seems to be the same engine for all these years now, it just doesn't compete with Forza from a reality standpoint. Adding damage as a download later? That's a crock of shit tbh. It should be in the full game, even if that means delaying it even more. Either it's in, or it's out. But how messed up would it be if you're racing online and you have damage and the guy who smacks you off the road doesn't? There goes your car as he gets by unscathed. Look, I love the GT series and always will, but Forza has taken me away with just how good it is from a racing standpoint. Don't listen to Neil, he races with assists on :P Those do all the driving for you, and make your car feel very unresponsive and dull.

Oh I forgot to add that you can also add aftermarket body parts to your car on Forza too. Name brand stuff, and almost all cars are supported, especially JDM vehicles. All you do on GT is change the wheel and add a rear spoiler...Which sucks. I hope they improve this but it's not likely.

Burnout > PGR/FM

Burnout 3 was better than PGR3, but PGR4 is better than Burnout Takedown.

Burnout 3 was fucking amazing.

EDIT: phreak, the word you're thinking of is "realism," not "realisticness." :P

Do you mean PGR4 is better than Revenge or did you actually mean Takedown? But yeah Takedown was amazing. Still holds up too.

Neither of them "win" in physics when PC racing sims own the hell out of both of them on just about every level. If you know what settings to use in GT, however, it's actually really similar and in many cases more realistic than Forza. I think you should either go back and play GT1 (or even GT4) and then select the "professional" physics option in the GT5P demo. There's a huge difference. It sounds like you're playing the game with "simulation" physics enabled, which is basically the same physics used in GT4.

Shhhhhh!!!! Logic causes the beast to banz!!!

I've played the demo, and I'm sorry but if anyone thinks even the simulation physics are the same, they're nuts. I found the physics to be drastically different, especially when drafting/drifting. I noticed the threshold of the tires a hell of a lot more than I did before. I was able to manage my throttle in regards to the threshold of the tires much better than before.

I'm sorry but if it's such a "shit" game in terms of physics then why does it sell so amazingly well compared to other racing "sims."

Yeah lets compare a one track demo of GT to a full game, That makes alot of sense.

Anyway Forza and PGR only wish they were in the same league as GT, They both pale in comparrison. Forza is fun, But has nothing on GT and PGR isn't even worth me mentioning how boring it is.

Try drifting on Forza, and you'll see how GT's handling really is a joke. The cars just feel wrong, you can't feel the weight shift, you can't feel your wheels receiving power and you can't feel where your engine is. On Forza, if you really sit down and play it for a good two or three hours, then go to GT, you'll laugh at how stupid GT's handling is.

@Piggus: Yes, there are PC sims that are much more realistic than Forza and GT. GTR is one example I've heard of being mentioned quite a lot on the Forza forums. There are people there that play these PC sims and they say Forza and GT both have a long way to go in that department. But even they agree, not even being biased, that Forza does have the edge over GT in those physics.

Look, I know how many Sony fanboys there are at this site. They just can't comprehend that just because it has a Sony badge on it, it isn't going to be the greatest thing ever. I nearly spit my drink all over my monitor when Fry said Forza doesn't compete with GT at all. R.O.F.L.

You guys are just...I don't know. I want to use a bad word to describe you, but I won't. I seem to be the only "Hardcore" racer here aside from Neil who has even done anything with Forza. It's really quite disappointing. For you guys to say that GT is so far ahead of Forza when you haven't even played it. I'm trying to be absolutely fair here. I know GT5 will be an extra cool game, and I'm getting it 100%. But people, I just want you to respect what Turn 10 has created. A true GT competitor, wasn't that unheard of not too long ago? And of course, Forza 2 will outsell GT5 by...A lot. Because not only did it get two year+ start, it is now being packaged with Xbox 360s here in North America. So tell me, Fry, tell me it doesn't compete again. ;)

Just to finish this up, I know I can't change anyone's opinion. You're going to think whatever you're going to think, no matter how much I tend to disagree. It's like I'm in a debate, I'm only one arguing my point in a room full of opposition. You can see how I get frustrated, when it's like nobody is listening to what I have to say. It's okay, what can I do. I know where I stand, and noone else wants to see past their apparent fonboyism and total preference by brand to think that "hey, not everything good is Sony, maybe there ARE good games from Microsoft, wow" then you know...Whatever. I can try, but some people are under a spell so deep that it would take an act of god to break it.
