I recently bought GTA3 for PC, it sucks. I have the recomended PC specs for it, it lags like anything even if i dont have anything running in the backrgound.

My specs are;

AMD Athlon XP 1300 (1.3 ghz)

376 MB Ram

64MB NVIDIA RIVA TNT2 Graphica Card

40 Gig Hard drive

----------

I have played around witht the settings, it doesnt help much. So i pretty much wasted 30 quid.

Is it work paying for Vice City?

Cheers, Stu

Vice city is a gr8 game I would buy it if I were you

My comp isnt as good as urs in the graphics side of things (only 32 megs) and i have 256 megs of ram my processor is faster though

but my comp can cope with Vice city but it just goes a bit scetchy sumtimes but as u have twice as much graphics power it shouldnt be a problem for you

I'm not sure why, but Vice city runs faster than GTA3. i have a P4 2.0ghz processor and almost top of the range sound, graphic and video cards. GTA3 still lags at times - its just made like that. You could buy Vice city and get the full release of GTA-world online: vice city and gta3 in one, with all the missions. It is faster than running GTA3.

I'm not a fan of GTA 3. I have vice city on XBOX and its superb, although i have been stuck on 'COP LAND' for a while anyway,
i will invest in Vice City and possibly a 128 graphics card, and 512 ram just to be on the safe side. Also getting Broadband in about a week, so will be playing Online soon. Looking forward to it.

Yea im not a fan of Mods either, only the Bike ones he he. I love bikes i own a Honda VFR 400. I bought GTA3 thinking it was going to be good but Vice City outclasses it to the Max, i have the double pack for the Xbox. Will broadband handle multiplayer vice city?

yes it will. even 56k dialup is enough (but it lags or so i've heard) what speed broadband are you getting? i have 512kbps and i get stable pings maximum = 320

Same - 30 quid is enough for me to spend a month on Broadband. I used 56k on games like rogue spear and it lags like hell!

well trust me, when gta-world online is released, it will have both in one WITH multiplayer. you can't say that won't be popular...

one of my computers has a 32mb riva TNT2 pro and when I had problems with GTA3 I just downloaded the GTA3 Enhancment Collection. It gets rid of stuff like rain and other small stuff to help improve the fps. for me It seemed to help a lot.

Colonel is right though GTA3 does run a lot worse than Vice City. Even on my 128mb card I have problems with fps in GTA3.

i got about 10 extra FPS from it...why is it so slow?

I have the 32 meg TNT2 and it runs gr8 it just cant cope with the high resolutions but not all the textures load rite  not sure y but i think its a software prob not a hardware prob and when it does load all textures the fps goes down alot

put the draw distance up; it try's to load textures from farther away.
