well, Some people around here call him Fido, so i think thats his name. He didnt say anything or no one said HIS name, so, therefore he is named Fido...plus in one mission, he gets called that, but i forget what mision it is, i thinks it's for Slavatory, where you drive that one chick to the party at the docks and then the police come and your driving the Limo.

This is the only facts. Maria calls him Fido. She could mean 2 things :

1) Fido is a common name for a puppy dog. She could mean that he is like a puppy for salvatore: he does whatever salvy wants him to do.

2) She is calling him trustworthy. Mafia = italian. Fido in italian means trust or faith.

He was Tommy V. In the future..if u dont beleive me.. look at the facts-

-In one of the last missions for GTA3 you drive Danald Love to the airport and out of Liberty city for therest of the game. While Danald is leaving he says something like "we should meet again sometime" Which suggests that he woul dhave some involvment in a future rockstar game (VC).
-At the beggining of VC you watch Sonny and his band of lameasses around a table discussing what was to be done with this Tommy Vercetti. I think it goes something like this : (guy 1): HIs kept his head down, helped people forget. (Sonny): People will remember soon enough..when they see him walking the streets of Liberty city. Simple it will be bad for bussiness. <That line right there suggests he's the guy from GTA3 because of the fact that he stated Tommy lived in Liberty..Why would the Rockstar games people say he didn't live in Liberty if he was the GTA3 guy? read on and i'll finish their (the mobsters) conversation> (guy2): so wat are we gonna do Sonny?.
(Sonny): We treat him like an old friend and keep him outta town. Just south is Vice city it's 24K gold. (guy1) but its all drugs Sonny..none of the familys will touch that shit............ANYWAY- So thats why i think Tommy is the GTA3 guy.

well, some of your FACTS are correct, but, i think that your guesses are wrong. YES, Tommy did fly from Liberty City to Vice City for that drug thingy at the begining Video for VC, but, at the end of VC him and Rosenburg end up running VC...and im guessing he decides to stay there, and GTA3 in Liberty City was set in 1999 so there for that would make Tommy, like...50 or so, i dunno, i didnt do the Exact Math, but he would be old....and, well Fido was a young guy...and why the hell would Tommy stop talking in Liberty City but yet rule all of Vice City, AND, why would he still be doing missions. when he is a Mob Boss or whatever.

your Opinions just didnt make sense, although the facts you shared were in fact correct, they did say he was from Liberty City and Sonny and his men where at Marcos Bistro witch is in Liberty City. So, i just dont think that Fido and Tommy V. are the same person, and sorry, but you wont find ANYONE else here that thinks that also, lol.

I actually checked w/my nearest anatome major dude and showed plenty of photographs of Fido and Tommy. Biologically, Tommy couldn't have GROWN into Fido... Plastic surgery? their bodyshape is different and they are the SAME AGE. Case Sience VS Kung Foo Jew Dismissed.

Tommy (if it is him) would not be 50. It's only 13 years later he could be 20 in VC and 33 in GTA3 and the reason he never talked is because they wanted him to be like the other characters of GTA1 and 2. Your forgetting that this was their first 3d GTA...they didn't want to stray to far from the original 2d ones. And your forgetting what happenes at the beggining of GTA3 that forces Tommy or Fido or whatever to do missions...he gets framed and arrested then brakes out because of the Cortel. So to regain his respect he has to do missions and take over Liberty. Your also forgetting that VC came after GTA3 so the creators didn't even have VC in mind when they had GTA3 set in 1999 (13 years after 1986) so they didn't kno he was gonna rule VC they just made up that fact in VC so the game would have a stroy line...You dont kno wat happened..something could've gone wrong forcing Tommy to move back to his house in Liberty where he would get framed ect ect. AND on top of all this I was reading through a magazine which had previews of VC on it (printed before VC came out) and it said in the first paragraph
(and I quote): Tommy Vercetti is back again, but this time ready to take on VC. A city full of Drug Barons, Crooked cops..ect ect ect.
IN conslusion I do think that Tommy and Fido are one in the same
P.S why would anyone name their kid Fido...u guys r nuts.:D

nobody named their kid fido.....that's just his nickname. and also in the end of VC tommy kills the mafia guys. and if he did that why would they hire him to work for them again in liberty? unless they all had amnesia. tommy looks like fido and vice versa. but they are not one in the same.

ok it's been a while since I've played that mission but I don't think I'm wrong here.
Prob just explaining it badly.
Type asked how I knew Tommy did jail time.
I got that idea from the very beginning of the game when the mob guys ( I'm bad with names) were talking a bout tommy.

Also in one of the cut scenes with the biker dude ( Mitch right? ) He mention his " family" ( e.g. gang ) tommmy says he had a " family ( e.g mob ) once and it didn't work out.
Mitch then says that his family doesn't ask their guys to do the dirty work the n let them do 15 years hard time." Ya that's right. I've done my homework"
At which point he gives him another mision. ( Which one I can't remember.

Its been about a year not remebering it.I like to mod my viice city and cruise around, not start over the game and listen to them talk i just like to get to the game and skip the intros or cut scenes

so it was actually 16 years since tommy killed 11 ppl in harwood, Liberty city. Correct me if i'm wrong but isn't a life sentence 25 years? Wouldn't that make a 275 year sentence? WTF did he get away with 15 years?!?!?!?!?!?
