If you have any problems with your sounds in any GTA game for PC, and your game is NOT pirated, send me a private message with the exact problem, along with your sound card details and version of the game (1.0, 1.1). If you don't know how to check your sound card, go to Start, Control Panel, 'Sounds Speech and Audio Devices', 'Sounds and Audio Devices'.

Hi, I got wird problem,, that gta vc says when done loading that I dont have any audio hardware,, and I do have a legal copy of Gta Vc witch I bought. English version 1.1 bye the way.
I have a p4 2.4mhz, w/geforce FX 5200 128Mb, with latest drivers, and Realtek AC97 audio w/latest drivers, 512Mb Ram
Using English win XP pro bulid 2600.
I tried to reinstall the 1.1 coruption patch witch i need for video problems, (witch also caused a load of problems),
tried to uninstall every driver and reinstall, even reinstalled xp once :/ i'm quite ready to break the CD in to if you cant help me.

I have a pirated copy :evil: Sometimes the radio stations just stop... only way to get it back is to alt-tab out, and go back in...
Haa... I have a pirated copy...
Every thing works fine except there isnt any sound in the cutscenes and the radio stations dont work... but with sub titles and a few mp3s I'm doin just fine :P
Why would I go buy it anyway if I have a version that works just fine except for a few sound problems?

Sound like a very bad copy you have.... My version is perfect except for that little problem i posted. It doesn't happen a lot
I downloaded it in 30 minutes... I'm happy with what I got :P
And... I can play MTA.

i tried downloading it and it gave me gta3 instead but then it wouldnt start so i just bought vice city and 3.
I'm gonna end up buying both gta3 and vice one of these days... but this is just too easy, especially when you're low on spare change :P

i have VC pirated.. contact rockstar if u want i dont care, but ive uninstall it to make space and now i cant reisntall it anymore.. but wtv i still play it on my ps2

watch... i was probably 15 at the time this happened....
I went to gamestop, I picked up a copy (legal) for VC and I was just ready to pay when the guy said "how old are you?" i said "15" then he was all like "nope sorry, you can't buy this game" so i couldn't do anything else, I mean come on man i was 15, like i've never seen that kind of stuff in my life before.
So the next day i told my friend and he told me that his friend could get me a copy (ilegal) for 5$, so i gave him the 5 dollars and here i am.
But don't worry, i'll be picking a legal copy for the xbox soon, cuz now im 17.
MY POINT: They shoulda sold me that copy then

i dont see why people have pirated copies of VC...i mean c'mon VC is $30 and GTA3 is $20....how much cheaper can u get.

and yes i will buy a legal copy since im 17 now because I also want to give R* money so that they can make more great games.. in fact i don't have that game in my PC anymore and I already have 25$ for VC for XBOX so i will buy it some time this week

I get brand new games the day they come out, I don't care what the cost is, infact, I bought 2 copies of GTA: Vice City incase one would get damaged and they both cost me $99.99x2.
I have no authority in these forums but to all you people talking about how well their pirated copies work please dont, THis topic is for people without pirated copies who are having trouble with sound.
I think that anyone who pirates/copies games should not have any involement in the gaming world. Especially for people like Take 2/Rockstar they put in hard effort to provide the best games possible and we should dignify their efforts by paying money for their games. I have GTA Liberty City and GTA Vice City both on Computer and Xbox and both are retailer sold. I dont think that anyone should brag abut having pirated copies of their games, and I do hope that for all you criminals out there that the good people at Take 2/Rockstar Games make it nearly impossible to copy GTA San Andreas.

Amen to that. I think that pirate copies stupid, and rockstar should have some better copy protection of games.
Any way, back on topic, I posted somewhere (can't remember where) about the cut-screen sound and the radio stations not working. Well I tried a newer sound card and still no luck, but some of the cut-screens have some sound now, but its lagging some how, and you can barely understand it half the time. I have 256mb of RAM so I don't think thats the problem (I know its not alot but it should run the game OK) So has any-one got any other ideas??

He's gone. :) And there's news of a miles sound upgrade. It'll hopefully make audio sound alot better and clearer. When it gets released I'll put a link here and on the main page.

ok i thought this was a helping form not a stupid discussion. But anyway i've got a big prob with my sound....I tried to mod Vc (stupid me) but before i made a backup from the Sfx.sdt...and the mod was fucked up so i deleted the new maps and replaced it for the backups...result FUCKED UP SOUND....i tried anything but nothing works it stays fucked up..Is there any link where i can find a new one or should i just re-install the whole thing????????

not copywright protection...its screws stuff up. one of my cds has copywright protection. ppl have ripped from it no bother and my cd jumps sometimes in my xbox:violent:

I hate CD copy protections.
They have never stopped me from making copies of CDs, however, I've had to crack alot of my games that are legit copies, due to the fact that the game can't detect the CD. There are alot of peeps who don't know about cracks, and if they were in my shoes, they'd be screwed. You can't bring the game back once it's opened, and if they use copy protection, there's a good chance that they won't be able to play it.
I'm also getting pissed off at record companies that are selling CDs with copy protection. I can't play my Metallica St. Anger CD in my MP3 player in the car because of it. If you look at alot of jewel-cases now at the record store, you'll see a little warning that not all CD players will read the CD's due to the copy protection.
However, I had no problem ripping the CD on my computer, and reburning it. What's stopping me from giving it to my friends? Nothing. All their copy protection did was cause me grief trying to play it, and in no way prevented piracy.
Another reason I hate copy protections is that I can't make a copy of the disc and put the original in storage (discs do die after extended use)
If my CD goes, I have to go out and buy the game again.
This all leads me to cracking the game, which allows games to be pirated anyways. I can see they are only trying to make piracy difficult, but why do it when you are inconviencing your customers, or making it so they can't use the product at all.

The easiest way to fix it would be just to re install the game.

I have a legal copy of Vc to computer :P and sounds work perfect.
i have audio problem just any one cant send me one audio folder in GTA VC then suck ur own DK

I have sevaral GTA SA problems, including no audio in the game.
I get audio in cutscenes, and the radio plays OK but I can't hear anything while on the streets, other than if I go to the shore I think I can faintly hear the sea! My audio is through the mb Realtek VIA AC97 set for 5.1.
Other problems are I can't map my numpad 5 (I'm left-handed) and can't select anti-aliasing in Advanced Graphics setup - I have a 256Mb 6800GT.
<LATER> i've got sound now, having upgraded the audio drivers, and I can get AA now I've switched from Widescreen to standard view.
The sound does tend to cut in and out though.
All I need now is NumPad 5....

my sound on my pc version just the sfx sound crap out once briefly the music kept playing then all of a sudden sfx sound came back on. Hasn't done it again
my version of VC doesnt detect my sound card then reverts to this rad game tools audio thing and the sound is laggy as hell, im in teh process of reins, but i dunno..., i have a santa cruz sound card

Just a random tip: For the people that have Sound Blaster, including me, and experiencing hardware noise staic, you must go to Sound Volume Control and click 'Mute' on the Tad-In section.

I have San Andreas (second edition) but I downloaded a pirited copy to get it to version 1(I got the LEGAL copy from BEST BUY, THEN got the PIRATED version so I can use MODS since version 2 wont allow them)
When I use the pirated .exe I have no sound but the radio.
can some one help because this is starting to make me mad
in san andreas when i shoot guns or drive cars the audio gets really quite and it also gets really
quite when people are talking.
my audio card is a Realtek Ac 97

i have pirated copy and sound does not work at all (it is an iso) it says no audio hardware how do i fix this?

I just got a new computer which runs GTA so well i was shocked to find out that the sound is absolutely screwed..for a few seconds you will be able to hear the vehicle you are in, but after about 10 seconds it will desapear, 10 seconds later it will come back etc etc. its really quiet but when i turn it up to normal volume, if you hit someone he swears loudly enough to wake the whole town. my soundcard is a Realteck High Definition Audio or something like that.. i have version 1.0 of San Andreas and it is not pirated( i bought it) hopefully the information provided is enough for you to help me.
